Finally! I find that Conquest is enjoyable to, but the type of warfare when to assualts are taking place exactly at the same time (rekonterslag in swedish) rarely takes place during a war/battle. More often there is a defined defender vs a attacker. The three different stages of battle that never occurs clearly in Conquest is applied in this mode. As an attacker you coould of course assualt with at big push with out good scouting and scout attacks, but then you are for sure going to pay a high price for your gambling. Scout - Skirmish - Battle is utterly clear in this mode. I also love the fact that all points are distrubuted at once in all phases.

There is possibles for a good defender to even launch counterattacks, but then you have to play smart, choose wisely where to counterattack and blance your defense.

The Breakthrough has to be developed of course, co-op mode (1vs1) and maybe 2vs2/3vs3 and 4vs4 scenarios as well. There should be a possibility for inf vs inf as well, maybe possibility to assault as an inf div against an armoured one.

I hope Eugen aims to include all divisions with the new settings. Great develop for the game, the game Went from a 3+/5-game to a 4+/5. It will be a 5/5 game if the Brekathrough mode develops even further.

Not true during Battle of Normandy. A very common tactic for the germans, that the best defence was to quickly counterattack. When the allies attacked, the germans would counterattack before they could get entenched and it was very effective.

Big difference between counterattack and a battle were two assaults are launched simualtanlicy against each other. But yeah, the Normandy-campaign was a spectacular one.

Not true during Battle of Normandy. A very common tactic for the germans, that the best defence was to quickly counterattack. When the allies attacked, the germans would counterattack before they could get entenched and it was very effective.

Allies would seize ground and prepare while Germans withdrew, reorged, grabbed some nearby personnel and then counterattacked. Very different from meeting engagement where two formations run into each other and immediately commencement engagement from the march.

Attack/Defend also hands the defender a huge whack of points in C to simulate a counterattack.

The immediate counter-attack you mentioned was the standard German tactic that was used throughout the war.

But "immediate" means not 10 minutes but 2h -1 day later. so it still gave the opponent most of the time the chance to at least take position (but not to build defences) thats why breakthrough scenarios are really good in presenting this.

Btw. the germans even used this tactics in ww1 already in there defense of the Hindenburg Line (thats what they invented Stosstruppen for)
