IIRC, AGCEEP is loosely based on history. None of the starting nations can become Germany in timeframe from 1419-1820. Historically Germany was unified in 1871 by Bismarck´s Prussia.

However, Brandenburg can become Prussia. If you have Victoria and EU2Vic then you can convert your savegame from EU2 to Victoria. If you are already Prussia then you can become Germany in Victoria.

In AGCEEP Germany can be formed in 1500, I know the Germany was united only in 1871.

I checked. You are correct. Brandenburg can do it. It is event 132700. This is the trigger:

trigger = {
emperor = yes
countrysize = 6
NOT = { badboy = 3 }
OR = {
AND = { #any combination of 3 of the 4 electors except Brandenburg
vassal = { country = BRA country = KOL }
relation = { country = KOL value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = MAI }
relation = { country = MAI value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = PFA }
relation = { country = PFA value = 100 }
}
AND = {
vassal = { country = BRA country = KOL }
relation = { country = KOL value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = MAI }
relation = { country = MAI value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = SAC }
relation = { country = SAC value = 100 }
}
AND = {
vassal = { country = BRA country = KOL }
relation = { country = KOL value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = PFA }
relation = { country = PFA value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = SAC }
relation = { country = SAC value = 100 }
}
AND = {
vassal = { country = BRA country = MAI }
relation = { country = MAI value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = PFA }
relation = { country = PFA value = 100 }
vassal = { country = BRA country = SAC }
relation = { country = SAC value = 100 }
}
}
}

If I read the trigger correctly, then you need at least 6 provinces, you must be the emperor and you badboy reputation must be smaller than 3. Also you must have at least 3 electorates as your vassals. The possible electorates are Köln, Mainz, Pfalz and Saxony. You should also remember this timeframe.

date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1495 }
offset = 300
deathdate = { day = 31 month = december year = 1505 }

I know all of that, what I want is how to start... should I be a diplomatic player, or annex all of Germany?

Is not Pfalz but Palatinate

Well. :D You start with two provs, getting one more early on. You need 3 more. I'd make Mecklemburg one of those, and Anhalt as well as Würzburg are goods shots as these are provs of two desired vassals. I'd warmongering a bit to get those provs (Mecklemburg being the most vital). If you can get Mainz into your alliance and diplo-vassalise, that's fine but if it doesn't work, DoW and force-vassalise.

After that (you'll probably be done by 1470), it's a smooth ride. Use your money to build improvements and send gifts to get higher relation in order to become emperor.

I've started a game and there's what I've got:

I control Vorpormmern or what ever is called the prov that is above my capital.

I control Mainz.

Palatinate is in my alliance.

Koln, Hesse, Saxony are in a alliance, I can declare war on this alliance and vassalize Saxony and Koln, Hesse will dishonour the invitance for the war because the good relation with me, I can put them in my alliance as I've made with Palatinate, when I declare war against Mainz, but Saxony will enter in the alliance because have a border with me allthought of having +200 relations and a RM with me.

Date is 1 August of 1429.

Don't take Mecklemburg by force, it'll lose it's CoT to Denmark.

Whatever you do, expand at the smallest BB-cost possible ! Don't force-annex countries. Jump into warring alliances on the defensive side, take a few provinces of an attacker or two, and make a separate peace by taking a few provinces at 1 BB/apiece.

No need to expand in Germany proper, if you have good relations with the other countries you'll get to inherit them and get cores IIRC. Rather, expand in the Netherlands for example, and in the Baltic area (aim the CoTs).

IIRC too, you may be able to get cores on bohemian provinces during the Hussite Wars, but I don't remember what you have to do for that.

Simply accept the Pope's offer, even as it throws you into a war with Bohemia, nothing else is needed.
