This is quite honestly the best part of the thread and a better reason to go through it than the OP.
Someone's having a bad day I guess.

This, so much this. alot of people have over 1k hours in this game (5k here) You get so much replayability and the game stays fresh becauae of patches and whatnot so these posts about uhrr uhrrr dlc uhrrr mad angry uhhrr EA uhrrr are insane because if you have to pay 100 euro to own all dlc for assasinscreed and proceed to play 100 hours max thats expensive but i cant imagine anyone willing to buy and play eu4 will play less than thatTo be fair I don't really mind paying for these awesome expansions. I have logged almost 1800 hours on steam (which probably is like 1200 actual hours of gameplay). It probably cost me around 50 euros to buy all expansions (using sale and whatnot). 50,00 / 1200 = 0.04, meaning 4 cents per hour! One night going out costs about the same and gives way less for your buck.
Ohh but you do.. while you dont link to the steampage you do have a nice little lock button that says that the new slot will unlock at developement lvl 10, lvl 20 etc. things you can not raise without a dlc.
Its retarded that people throw a tantrum about developing provinces. Before we had BT and it was impossible to manually change BT over the course of the game. Now its actually possible and people complain. Guess they shouldnt have added that feature.
As a western nation, which cant expand quickly enough it is sometimes worth your MP. If you play republic even with national focus DIP/ADM you will most likely have surplus of military MP. I get Military tech ahead of time almost exclusivity at the start of war (having 9xx for years) in SP. Going heavily in military ideas and polices could solve this problem. Bumping provinces dev from *9 or *8 to *0 provide you quite nice boost locally (building slot). I do spend DIP/ADM points to develop provinces in similar manner sometimes (DIP is better especially in provinces with Iron, Coper etc). In long run this +70% ahead of time for admin tech is less important than 4 building slots and some development. Or accepted culture (and than converted without -2% missionary strength for unaccepted culture).Wiz, can I perhaps ask, is Paradox happy with the current building system?
I'm asking because honestly, I still see it as a step backwards. Less buildings but with bigger effects sounds okay in theory, but they're quite bland and I hardly ever get excited by unlocking new buildings.
Less building slots leads to saying: "Well I won't build anything yet because I need building X and it ain't unlocked yet". Ten minutes later, I make the rounds of my provinces again and I need to go through the exact same train of thought again because I still haven't unlocked what I want and I've forgotten by now what I wanted here.
And Development sounds nice in theory, again, but you never end up saving up MP for it. It's not important enough, or it doesn't feel important enough. Maybe as an OPM, but when have you said to yourself: "Oooh, I really need to improve that province, that tech/idea can wait"? To me Development is an afterthought, not a priority...
I feel the patch took two steps back.
Development is a step forward, but net result is still a step back.
The fact that these sorts of threads keep popping up is to me a clear indication that this sentiment is, broadly speaking, present in a good portion of the player base.
So are you guys working on taking the next two steps forward with these systems so we can finally say that yes, we have something better than we had before?
This conversation makes sense to me, i think they made a little mistake. Paradox should allow vanilla user to spend monarch points on development because this is more than just a gameplay feature.
I personnaly bought the dlc, and i won't find it unfair if they do so.
You guys dont even try to understand what direction they are taking.
you really dont get it do you?Well, you know you can go back to 1.11...
you really dont get it do you?
Wait, wasn't it a straw that broke the Camel's back? But this as they say is the needle that broke the camels back.
