Well at least you managed not to violate your own forum rules by getting personal and insulting.

You critisise my spelling... but by doing so you save volumes about yourself.

Your spelling is leagues better than your understanding of consumer law.

if only they would with their wallet :) but they wont. We all know how gamers are.

As I said, I am done with this company.. I will at least try to be honest with myself... thats all I can do.

I was being facetious and referring to this.

Whoever registered The Silent Majority can finally get another use from that account.

Lol. Yes indeed.

Did you mean "share" instead of "save"? I don't think Wiz is vain enough to believe that any autobiography produced by him would have to be several volumes.

Just you wait until 'The Rise and Lack of Fall of the Wizonian Empire' comes out!

To be fair I don't really mind paying for these awesome expansions. I have logged almost 1800 hours on steam (which probably is like 1200 actual hours of gameplay). It probably cost me around 50 euros to buy all expansions (using sale and whatnot). 50,00 / 1200 = 0.04, meaning 4 cents per hour! One night going out costs about the same and gives way less for your buck.

To release a patch that is nothing but a hidden advertisment for a dlc is basiclly EA tactics at its finest. Its like dragon age with that campfire dudes trying to give you a quest. But this is even worse since now you can no longer build everything anymore.

Anyway, I'm curious, I know that in internet EA is the spawn of Satan and Astarte, but what do you have against the Dragon Age campfaire quests? I thought they were a brilliant and funny way to insert some new content into the gameword.

He's talking about the DLC-hocking NPC that would appear in your game and offer you a quest if you'd just swipe your credit card here, please. The equivalent would be us having expansion-only feature buttons show up in the game but only take you to the steam store if clicked. Something we're obviously never going to do.

I agree that not being able to build anything with the most recent patch and without Common Sense is a problem, BUT you can choose an older version of the game in the Steam betas tab. This should solve the problem.

Although I sympathise with the OP, as you say you can easily play an older version in Steam betas tab, which I do for both EU4 & CK2. Mainly as I have a lot of old saves I like playing.

Contrast this with Colossal Orders update with Cities Skylines which has ruined my game by automatically updated it on Steam, & having no way to play the older version or the game as I want. I wish Paradox would point them towards their policy with Steam so I & others can play properly again. Sorry for hijacking this thread, but similar scenario with different results.

Ohh but you do.. while you dont link to the steampage you do have a nice little lock button that says that the new slot will unlock at developement lvl 10, lvl 20 etc. things you can not raise without a dlc.

Wherever I see word "boycott", I find twisted logic, hyperboles. After initial comments you probably also notice, that most of community doesn't share your point of view. Not to mention, it is kinda inappropriate to use resources of producer to harm him. Last one is probably the least significant, because all "boycott" end up in the same way - they got a lot of attention initially and have almost no results (like boycott Israel thing or over nine thousand topics here).
Sure, you can disagree with developers or any other person on the world, by if you use flashy words and do a lot of noise over some standard (therefore known) practice in modern industry you are not going to succeed. Most people will regard you as troublemaker, radical or tabloid journalist (in modern language) consciously or not. It is natural mechanism against manipulations and it is here from at least Ancient Greece (Aristotle)..

Wiz, can I perhaps ask, is Paradox happy with the current building system?

I'm asking because honestly, I still see it as a step backwards. Less buildings but with bigger effects sounds okay in theory, but they're quite bland and I hardly ever get excited by unlocking new buildings.

Less building slots leads to saying: "Well I won't build anything yet because I need building X and it ain't unlocked yet". Ten minutes later, I make the rounds of my provinces again and I need to go through the exact same train of thought again because I still haven't unlocked what I want and I've forgotten by now what I wanted here.

And Development sounds nice in theory, again, but you never end up saving up MP for it. It's not important enough, or it doesn't feel important enough. Maybe as an OPM, but when have you said to yourself: "Oooh, I really need to improve that province, that tech/idea can wait"? To me Development is an afterthought, not a priority...

I feel the patch took two steps back.
Development is a step forward, but net result is still a step back.
The fact that these sorts of threads keep popping up is to me a clear indication that this sentiment is, broadly speaking, present in a good portion of the player base.

So are you guys working on taking the next two steps forward with these systems so we can finally say that yes, we have something better than we had before?

Yes, I understood what he was talking about; I meant that, well, I found It funny. Let's be honest, if I play a game, I'll be seeing a lot of advertising, wether by opening steam (or origin) or opening the game menu that says "new expansion/DLC is out". Now, finding a dwarf that tells me "Hey, that's this cool tower, but you have to pay me for the map" And discovering you really have to pay is pretty cleverly done.
But i see that I'm not in the majority... :p

I don't get it, you claim that it's an advertisment to buy Comon Sense. The game runs fine without it. You could also build / download a mod if you want to develop provinces without CS.

I used to build everything in my home pronvinces in the past, and yes, I had to adapt to the changes.
Personally I don't own Comon Sense because I do dislike the idea of Development (a 20 development Luxembourg is just silly imo)
I do miss the Protestant features.

As I said earlier, the game runs fine without it (have a personal mod with changes I liked myself).
And yes PI is not a philanthropic institution, so they would love us to buy their DLC's.

I hope you will fine a game-company that suits you better. At the end we are all gamers.

Its retarded that people throw a tantrum about developing provinces. Before we had BT and it was impossible to manually change BT over the course of the game. Now its actually possible and people complain. Guess they shouldnt have added that feature.

... its not about succes.. thats what so many dont understand. Its about beeing able to look at the man in the mirror.

Don't think that nobody cares, you just can't make them care.
