Boxed version of EUIII ?

Hello everyone,

I have recently traveled to Cuba. There I met a bunch of really nice people including a group of history and sociology students. Those guys loved board and card games and we had a lot of fun during my stay. Since they enjoyed strategy and board games so much I talked to them about Paradoxe games and they were really interested.

Now as you can imagine, it's almost impossible for them to acquire video games. Not that they lack computers, but they have no way to pay over the internet, when they even have an internet connexion at all and even then paying for video games in foreign currency is a luxury none of them can afford. Since I will go back again soon I thought it would be cool to bring them a physical copy of a Paradoxe game and EUIII seemed like an obvious choice. I know at some point it was possible to purchase boxed versions of EUIII. Is it still possible to acquire one with all expansions and the latest patches ? (and that would require no internet connexion to play).

If not is it possible to play this version without an internet connexion after the download ? I can probably put it on a CD then.

Last question, does the vanilla version come with a decent Spanish translation ? If not I imagine there is a community made one anyway.

That's why I would like to buy a boxed version with all the expansions. I'm not even sure if it exists. It sure isn't in the Paradoxe store but I know they sold them at some point.

Afaik is the boxed version with all expansions until Divine Wind called: Europa Universalis III: Chronicles and/or Europa Universalis III: World Edition.

Here in Germany these DVDs are still available. Perhaps try a well known online auction house with four letters.

According to the wiki page of EU3 as well, Chronicle does contain Divine Wind. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks everyone.

Be a little careful with the boxed copies since most versions I remember were "Steam" versions unlocking a license for steam. On the other hand, when you've bought and downloaded the game, there is no real restriction on how you carry it around. You could just place it on a portable harddrive and copy it to your PC or run it from the the harddrive. Not even the steam version needs to be run with steam active while having an internet connection. Clicking on the .exe file in the eu3 folder works just as well.

I got EU3 Chronicles in a box. I can confirm that it doesn't need steam and has Divine Wind.
