Bought the game, question in regards to resolutions.

I read on some website that this game will be 800x600 resolution.

I have a fairly large monitor and it looks like garbage on anything but 1640x1080, is there any way that would allow me to use such a resolution that would work on this?

800x600 is the minimum. You choose whatever is over this resolution (but with less than 2400 pixels in height sorry, really, not that we didn't try but... o )

Totally, the EU2 Engine doesn't require much computer horsepower

FTG does require more power than EU2, but I think it should still be playable on a netbook.

to be tested with the demo. My concern would be that I don't know if the OS are strictly the sames than for other PCs, but apart from this...

What is stored in the settings.txt file at the root of FTG install folder for the size section?

trying to change it to 1366x768. The settings says 1280x1024, seems a little strange.

Anyway got college soonish so I might leave it until I get back.

Strange indeed since 1366x768 resolution was tested without problem. Is 1280x1024 available on your system and thus displayed in the resolution list?

In game, the option of 1280x1024 isn't given, in fact I can't go above ????x768. Same occurs in control panel.

I'm off to college now should be back in 3/4 hours where I shall have another play around see if anything has changed.

FTG uses the same information as the control panel by asking the system, nothing more. I'd like to have a screenshot of the resolutions listed in the FTG Settings screen on your PC.

Do you use last available driver for your video card?

Try to manually change values in settings.txt to 1366x768 for the size. It could work unless the system denies FTG the right to use this resolution and FTG will then revert to 800x600 since this is the basic resolution supported by all video cards.

Hmm,

Bought FTG specifically for netbook, possibly taking the claim that netbook res will be supported too literally.

Whenever I go to settings ingame I just get <no resolutrions found> and it always displays in 800x600. Have tried changing in settings.txt but same result.

My netbook is 1026x576, Compaq mini.

Should have waited for the demo maybe?
