They key you were provided with is for accessing the forum section, it's not for registering the game on Steam. The reason for the error is actually quite simple: it seems to have expired ><. These codes were generated by us and have an expiration date (don't ask me why ><) and for some of our older games certain codes are expired. As the good sir pevergreen pointed out though, we can help you by crediting it manually.
