I've been fighting the USSR as Imperial Japan from the east while the Axis has had its run of "Barbarossa" from the west. That being said, I am not allied with Germany (didn't want to fight the Allies in the Pacific and the Communists; that would've been a micromanaging nightmare). So, we nicely carve up the Soviet territory and meet each other on a line that roughly run north to the Pole from Baku at the Kaspian Sea.
Now, apparently the "Bitter Peace" event fires for Germany. I get prompted that the USSR accepted my peace offer (which I had not offered), all my troops get automatically strategically redeployed to the Chinese coast and I end up with maybe a sixth of the USSR's eastern provinces, half of those not even connected?! How is that even possible? I had all that territory occupied! I did not want to sign a peace agreement. And it took me 2 1/2 years to get my slow moving troops to that point!
Seriously, I feel a bit cheated by the game now.
EDIT: Something else that occured to me was that even though Vichy France was created, I was not given a choice to demand their provinces.
