I'm playing the AoM, as Sweden it's now around 1740. (Very hard and furious)

I've been at war with Russia twice both times I was the aggressor.

I control several of Russias provinces like Novgorod and so on. Realtions of course -200! And my Bad Boy Rating is somwhere around 40.
Why doesn't he DW!

It's not realistic! Once I was at war with France and Austria during somewhere around five years. Anyhow I suffered from huge war exhaustion and lack of manpower and still Russia didn't declare war!

I've read some about different mods, is there anyone that adresses this problem.

Ok it's fun to dominate and EUII is a great game! But it would be a lot more challenging if the computer DW sometimes, especially when there's reasons.

If you want more wars, and a more challanging gameplay you should try out multiplayer, fighting humans is alot more fun then an idle AI :)

There's a really simple way to get Russia to declare war on you. Go into your savefile, find the country tag for your nation (SWE, since you're playing Sweden), and find the entry under it that says "badboy" with some number after it (You probably have it, since you have expanded). Set that to 500. That should do the trick.

Oh, and one last thing. May you live in interesting times. ;)

lol, wont such incredibly high BB greatly effect RR, as well as economic might? (especially if you develop WE)

- Would be like injecting bleach right into a vein...incredibly painful and messy suicide

My mod, located in my signature, has the strongest AIs. They may not DOW you either but if you DOW them they are much much tougher.

AIs are programmed to leave stronger countries alone. Not allying anyone will help you be read as weaker to them and they will more likely DOW you then. Personally I find forcing AIs who have no chance of defeating you into wars is a bit morbid.

Wouldn't it be better if they DOWed you when they are just as strong as you if not stronger? In the future Intend to model historic wars for humans. I'll make historic coalitions of AIs gang up on humans playing certain historic countries. I already have this for Portugal. Likely Spain will have this in my next release. But I'm interested in making others work the same way.

Try playing a game set at very hard, very agressive. If you play at coward the AI usually does not attack if you are a medium size country. Also you can disband your armies, save the game, quit it and reload it. That very same day you might be rewarded by several declarations of war from your most unlikely neighbors.

Make sure you have no armies on the border. Generally I find that if I am next to a powerful or somewhat powerful country and I move all of my armies away from his territory, he will declare war on me.

Also happens if I lose a battle to rebels.

Just my experiences.

Seems like I started an interesting thread...

Thanks for all the comments and tips.

I guess I'll try out Idontlikeforms mod.. But I was planning on playing as Castile in GC in my next game. I know it would be a lot more challenging playing a smaller power but....

And another comment if you (Philip II) don't get a Bad Boy rating of 40 or above how on earth do you expand, clearly not by conquest.... And still perhaps 10% of my expansion comes from Diploannexes and perhaps 40% from colonization.

Finally I guess I'll have to cheat to help the computer being realistic, still it's a bit tough making (by cheat) the computer DoW you when you have two other mayor powers fighting you. But if that's what I've to do then....

I guess I hit the roof. The glass got too full =)

In 1750 Spain DoW me and I called in my allies. After a war of 3 years. I got several of Spains colonies in the Caribbean and Luxemburg in Europe. This took my BB above the MAGIC number 50.

Two months after the Peace Res. Somewhere around 60-90% of my neighbours(haven't counted yet) had DoW me. I guess I've my challenge.....

Wish me GL =)

If it is your first BB war you will probably be eaten by war exhaustion. You have to learn to make peace with everybody that is at war with you within a short period (6 months) so you can recover from war exhaustion before the next wave hits. In order to do that you have to get a good warscore with all the enemy alliances except a maximum of 6 (for your diplomats). At a certain time you start accepting peace offers from all of them, and you buy peace from those that will not make and offer.
