Lol, except I'm having trouble having the patience to survive past the 1100s XD (I've had two successful campaigns botched in this time period because of a bug, when I finally found out about the patch). Now that I've succumbed to temptation and read the EU2 manual/done the tutorial, I just can't return to CK! XD

*sigh* I have such a dilemma. With such an AWESOME bundle of games I got off bundle (the Paradox crew: Crusader Kings, Hoi, Hoi2, EU2, Victoria) I simply don't know what to do! I've begun playing crusader kings for about a month deciding that I'd go in chronological order, but after reading a bit of the HoI2/EU2 manuals, I've gone berserk in wanting to try them all. But I guess I have some Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, because I wanted to finish at least one campaign of a game before moving on to the next game. To Crusade, to fight in WW2, to explore the New World, or fight in the Civil War/WW1 - what to do...
First thing you should do is buy Victoria:Revolutions and HOI2:Doomsday from Gamersgate. Both add new dimensions to game, especially Revolutions.

o_O Except That'll cost me, what, around $50...? I'm too busy saving up for those expensive 360 hits like Halo 3, Halo Wars, Spore, etc. XD....And I have ENOUGH games that I still need to play!!!! XD

Regarding the lack of intrigue, well I'd just like to give one example from my current Count of Kalmar -> King of Finland campaign.

I had literally quite large problem as one of the pagan tribes in there had actually managed to conquer whole Russia. I knew that I couldn't beat them in a war, but also that sooner or later they would come over me or my vassals if I left them be, so I had to do something about it. Well, I noticed my chance some years later when their current ruler had 0 year old kid as his heir. I took the risk and sent an assasin against their ruler, and it succeeded. Then I took out some of the better advisors in their court and the responsibility of keeping this eastern behemoth in line was on the shoulders of little baby. Well you can guess where that lead to.

Imo CK has much more and better uses for intrigue than HOI2 was. And the above is just one example. I could give half a dozen more just from my current campaign of successes I've had with diplomacy and intrigue and not just about assasins either.

In my opinion, CK with DV is the best medieval simulation ever produced. It could only become better with some polish and a few attached features. We just have to wait for CK2!
