Bolted and 1.03

I installed Bolts add on some time ago.

Do I need to unistall game and reload before I load 1.03?

You don't have to uninstall, but it's generally a good idea to do so. It helps prevent CTD's and other nasty problems.

A warning. If you have modified any of the HOI files, the patch will not over-write your modified files. If this is the case, you should:
1) Backup your modifications.
2) Uninstall HOI.
3) Install HOI.
4) Apply the patch.
5) Figure out what you want to do with your modifications.

So I guess that you should re-install it. That's what I'm going to do, if I just could get that patch! The download just stopped when I had about 40 % of it. I'm downloading it again...

I encountered something weired when installing 1.03 yesterday. I did as was recommended, and uninstalled HoI first. When I had installed the game again, and applied 1.03, I started the game. Then I saw something that should be impossible: bolt and all my earlier saves was still there! Well, but as long as the game works...

Same here, I even rebooted after the deinstall. Odd.

Well, this is quite standard unless there is a 'Remove Saved Games?' question in the uninstall program, which I don't know since I've not uninstalled it yet

Uninstallers only remove files which the installer has copied to the HD (as well as.. hopefully.. all the reg entries), otherwise people could get really pissed off if an uninstaller removed a file which didn't belong to the program (placed in the program main or sub dirs for whatever reason).

I think some of SF's earlier uninstallers for Paradox games would remove the entire install directory without asking. Very annoying.

I think the uninstaller only removes non-modified original Paradox files. I always delete the whole HOI directory after I uninstall.
