January 11th 1643 AD

Dear Diary,

On the 26th of March last year Pardubice's Army assaulted and conquered Zadar and with it Dalmacija as vengeance for their leader's death. Afterwards the new general, General Liberec was inaugurated. Saxony's armies had now reached the Balkan too, and only one Ottoman army of notice remained in the region.

Then I myself finally got to conquer something after having to hear about my generals conquests and meanwhile waiting for some small Ottoman armies wanting to slip between the fronts and advance into Bohemian territory.
I moved to Bosna, Praha was going for Hercegovina and Liberec would move through Hercegovina to Ragusa.

In April wonderful news came from General boleslav who managed to assault and take Constantinople.

The Balkan Campaign went well, except for that last noticeable enemy army that managed to slip past Saxon and Bohemian troops into Bohemian territory.

Meanwhile the Polish have a harder job facing the Ottoman forces that were supposed to take out Muscowy.

Looking very good! The OE doesn't pose a threat anymore, you have taken care of their armies and (hopefully) will take some of their provinces.

June 22nd 1643 AD

Dear Diary,

End of January another of our generals died, Premysl Praha.

A new leader, Vilem Pardubice was quickly appointed. Meanwhile Ragusa is still being sieged and I and Pardubice were waiting to advance.

Another month later Liberec conquered the city of Ragusa and marched on Kotor, Pardubice went towards Durazzo and I marched my army to Serdica.

By May the Ottomans were close to collapsing. The allies were advancing on all fronts and it couldn't and can't go wrong anymore.

In Siebenbürgen a scroll was discovered claiming it was rightfully Bohemian territory. It looked decades old, but was in fact hidden in the Klausenberg Library by Bohemian spies during the earlier war that Poland started.

The Balkan Campaign is progressing as planned. Thracia is now also conquered, as well as most Albanian culture provinces.

November 25th 1644 AD

Dear Diary,

By the end of the summer virtually all of the Balkan was conquered by the Bohemian army machine. Sieges throughout the region were won.

Pardubice and Liberec were ready to advance into Greece in early November. I would remain in the balkan to conquer the last remaining free region, Oltenia, and then go back to Bohemia to defeat the sole Ottoman army still wandering there.

Oltenia was quickly assaulted.

In January the whole of Greece was conquered except the islands.

Now that all of the European territories were in bohemian lands we tried to make a favorable peace with the Ottomans, but they foolishly thought they could muster enough forces in Asia Minor and the Caucasus in time to make a difference in Europe. Thus the war dragged on without much happening for another year.

This month Thomas Roe died, which was no real surprise as he was very old already when we hired him three years ago. In his stead we hired Von Wittgenstein.

December 24th 1646 AD

Dear Diary,

As the Ottomans refused to sign a peace we had no other choice but to cross the Bosporus and the Dardanelles.

Boleslav crossed the Bosporus by the end of 1644 and conquered Izmid in March 1645. One month later General Liberec had crossed the Dardanelles and quickly conquered Biga by May.

The day Biga was fully under Bohemian control a messenger arrived from the Court of the Sultan asking our terms on behalf of his master. We asked Siebenbürgen and Hrvatska, which was very reasonable, and the sultan accepted.

Back to peaceful affairs then. Once I was back at the court in Reichenberg a dispatched missionaries to Brandenburg, apart from the muslims in Hrvatska the last remaining heretics in our realm.

Later in July 1645 Jari and Kuruya in Brazil were able to survive without support from the homeland.

Earlier this month new reforms were introduced in the army, raising morale of the troops and a new type of cannon was introduced.

Later today I will announce a new major policy change giving the serfs and commoners more freedom from their landlords.

you should not ask for peace, you should take provinces, then make peace!

I too am surprised at the leniency of the peace offer. Any particular reason why you limited yourself to just two provinces?

It's all they wanted to give up. I had a WS +-75% and they weren't at 0% WC yet. I might have had to continue another two/three years weakening them and conquering all of modern turkey, the Caucasus and up north of there as the polish hadn't gotten to there yet. Remember there's an awful lot of provinces in Europe and the Middle East, much more then in vanilla/Magna Mundi.

Well, I suppose two provinces were better than none.... but it did seem that Ottoman resistance was crumbling, so it probably would have been worth it to continue the war for at least a little bit longer.

Both provinces have a total tax value of 14,..

Siebenbürgen has a tax value of 9,.. , Hrvatska of 4,..

That's quite high for Balkan provinces.

July 3rd 1649 AD

Dear Diary,

We ordered a missionary be sent to convert the muslims on the island of Pembe two years ago. Today I received word he had succeeded. Tales of our victories over the Ottoman Empire will have helped a bit I guess to make them see God is more powerful then Allah.

The missionaries I sent to Brandenburg to convert the gnosticists there back to Catholicism also had success, about two months after the missionary to Pembe took off.

Meanwhile Saint Helena was being colonized as a second stop on the way to East Africa and Asia.

Soon after the initial colony had been settled it was decided the indigenous inhabitants would be sent to our Brazilian holdings to work on the sugar plantations or in the gold mines.

Earlier this year, int he winter I made a trip to our allies and provinces in the Holy Roman Empire. On the way through Oberfranken I announced they were now officially fully Bohemian territory.

Dear Diary,

When I first ascended to the throne I promised to continue to make ourselves a way to Asia and it's enormous riches. Due to two wars with the Ottoman Empire, colonizing in Brazil and trying to convert the gnosticists and muslims in our realm this has been forgotten. but not anymore. In October we declared war on the island nation of Ceylon.

The East Africa Corps landed on the shores of the northern province Yarlpanam and took it's capital Colombo quickly.

The enemy's army had been stationed in the capital province and was now underway to meet us in battle. An uneven battle, easily won by the East Africa Corps. A second battle followed in Kotte.

Now we wait until we receive word the siege or assault has succeeded and the war has been won.

August 28th 1652 AD

Dear Diary,

As this is my first entry in this Royal Diary I'd best introduce myself. I'm Zikmund of Bohemia, third of that name. King of Greater Bohemia. Unless many of my predecessors I am not also Holy Roman Emperor. That title has been in French hands for years now. I guess the Electors, even our allies, fear france more than they fear or trust us.

We were still at war with tiny Ceylon when I took the throne. The assault on the capital city of Ceylon succeeded and in February 1650 peace was signed in return for Yarlpanam and 50 ducats.

As a gesture of goodwill I announced Westfalen to be a full part of Bohemia in December 1651.

My father's decision to colonize Saint Helena opened another path of colonization and conquest for us. Now we could reach Patagonia and move upwards along the west coast of South America towards the mighty Inca Empire. First we'd have to get rid of the very hostile natives in that region.

They were no match at all for our Atlantean Corps and colonization could now begin.

Missionaries were sent to the newly gained province of Yarlpanam to convert the buddhists in the region.

Despite the natives being wiped out, the first colonists failed to settle a decent colony, thus a second attempt was sent.

Three days ago our adviser Johan Adler-Salvius died of old age. Today we celebrated our new adviser, Trautmansdorff, a highly skilled and respected diplomat.
