Bohemia IV.

1550-1553.

1551, alliance with Hannover and Saxony.

1552, Hannover and Bohemia invades Bradenburg. Kustrin is taken, October, 1552. Brandenburgian armies are successful against our allies however towards the end of 1552.

1553, January. Austria declares war on me as I'm waging war in Brandenburg.

1553, March. Austria annexes me. Taking the rest of my 4 provinces. Obviously as a player I cannot be fully annexed, therefore I'm left with Prague. Yay.

Short aar? Too bloody right.

Requiem In Pace

Hey, surviving with Bohemia till 1553 is already a good performance. In fact, any Central European minor is a real challenge to play.

so ends the Bohemian rhapsody...It's kinda funny, really...it really and honestly saddened me to see Mr. Sapura humbled... :(

Austria seems rather POTENT...didn't know it was so in the 16th century...unless she was just beating up on you in particular...I would have guessed she'd be securing her eastern flank against a still powerful Poland and a mighty Turkey during this time period...hmm...

The Ottoman Turks were busy in the middle east during this game, apart from a few stalemate wars against Venice. Poland had taken out most of the better western provinces of Muscovy, it really didn't need to expand anymore, except to keep its frontiers defended.

Austria really wasn't extremely aggressive during this period, though Austria and Poland-Lithuania did clash in the late 16th century when a Habsburg (Maximillian) wanted the Polish throne. He besieged Cracow, was ejected from its walls and than defeated in an open battle at Byczyna in 1588. He was captured and kept in captivity for nearly a year until Austria revoked her demands for the Polish crown.

I would imagine that the computer beats up on human opponents all the time. However, very few folks are going to want to play a full game when they start off in a bad way, much less write an AAR about it.

It would be similar to starting a Civ AAR with a one city island continent.

Time to quit and restart.

Actually, it's refreshing to read about someone who continued playing a game with slim to none chances of winning right from the beginning. I would have restarted the game as soon as I lost one province in the beginning. lets all salute the man who decided not to surrender, SAPURA!!!!!!!!

Yes, thanks, Sapura, for showing us what can also happen in the game in addition to most of the AARs which show human domination of Europe. What level were you playing the game at? Normal? That would still be understandable as you faced some strong enemies. Probably wouldn't be too easy to play Andorra (or at least Navarra) either! Has anyone done an AAR with a Middle Eastern nation (such as Persia)?
