Well, perhaps the most important factor was that the seven of us played from 9.30am to 7.30pm and we had not one crash or any latency problems at a speed of 2 months to a minute. So despite all the bad news we have been hearing here is a very positive note. I believe that all of us will talk about this for some time and that most of us can not wait for a second round!
As for an AAR I'm sure one will be forthcoming but who from I'm not sure! We are currently reviewing the first session and how it went and are still drawing conclusions. I think that I'd have to wait a week or so whilst I gather all the data and make a more formal report to the group.
However, it was a great success, very nerve wracking and from preliminary feedback we have got some very interesting results and insights to how large MP games differ from single player games and the impact of this on gameplay and world development. At this stage I think that I can say that I was positively surprised at how well the game engine coped and the result that it produced in terms of historical interest and realism.
