Blurry fonts and broken minimap at low resolutions?

I found a lot of threads about illegible fonts at high resolutions, but none regarding resolutions lower than 1024x768. Is there any way to render fonts readable at lower resolutions? I understand the game was not designed to go below 1024x768, but the option is there and I would love to reap the performance benefits of running at, say, 800x600, but if I can't make out numbers and letters it's too much of a headache. I've tried some font mods but they don't help much, anything lower than 1024x768 and the font becomes extremely wonky. Also, I am unable to navigate using the minimap.

The game runs at an acceptable speed at 1024x768, but if anyone can figure out how to fix the fonts and minimap at low resolutions, they would have my eternal gratitude.

Hi Alice,

Please go to 'My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\' and open settings.txt (with any text editor, for example notepad).

Then change the min_ui resolution to the same as 'size' just above it. Save the document and restart the game.

IcratoX, Thanks for the reply, I have tried that. That does make the font readable, but setting min_ui to anything lower than 1024x768 causes windows to overlap each other and go off the screen, so I am still out of luck I suppose.

Unfortunately in that case I am not entirely sure if there is another method if the UI elements will be overlapping each other on smaller sizes. I'm sorry.
