This was a great trailer and I'm looking forward to seeing more from the new team. Thanks for sticking with this game through all of its troubles, Paradox. :)

I like that the terrible janky combat have improved a lot , though I'm doubtful a game in first person can ever make non-gunplay feel good compared to 3rd person.

Story seems completly rewritten from the trailer, from thinbloods to being an elder seems like the complete opposite. Not a bad change but a drastic one, how much of Mitsoda's story remain in the game seems like a big question mark.

It could be the same story but from a different point of view; nothing given seems to rule that out. Not much seems to have been given about the story at all, frankly.

Though I assume you're correct just because it'd be a lot easier for them to lower the number of obstacles they have to work around when spinning up development on a half-done project.

It's a trailer. Yeah, it's all flash and fireworks because that's what a trailer is supposed to be. Imagine a trailer that's just 180 seconds of dialogue boxes. That wouldn't be a very good trailer.

Telling the publisher to come back to their own website when they have something only you want to see isn't very contructive.

Obviously (to most anyway) I meant come back to us, the fans, not come back to the website.

This is a video game of a specific genre, not a movie trailer. If you aren't showing gameplay highlighting those genre elements then you aren't showing anything useful. I also sincerely doubt I'm the only one who wants to see the gameplay not a sizzle reel of combat.

Here's the trailer for Bloodlines 1: It's 99% action. You're just objectively wrong, sorry.

Going to need more than what's been shown off thus far to be even slightly interested in this again, especially after everything that went down 3 years ago, with, among other things, the unceremonious sacking of people like Mitsoda, Cluney or Avellone.
 
Looks good… and since I preordered, that is very reassuring. :bow:
 
I imagine some of the writing was redone probably to better fit the story. It may not make much sense to be quite as strong as the player character is (for more engaging combat) if you are some nobody that's got no power. And the length of time, or the extent they have to go, to make such a person relevant is a challenge in of itself if they are wanting to tell a more engaging story that focuses on it.

I just revisited some footage from what appears to be 2021, XSX Demo, and yeah what we see in the trailer is leagues above it. Hopefully actual combat looks that good, and that the story is equally solid. It doesn't need to be GOTY, but hopefully it is decent.
