Provided a friendly France, that shouldn't be a problem. If Austria and France teams up against a unification attempt it'll get a tad bit tough though

So long as Italy respects French dominance of north and west africa (Morrocco, Algeria, Tunis, the vast unclaimed territories of the central sahara/west africa), and is willing to discuss the french claims in nice/savoy, france will be more than happy to support Italian unification... I'd suggest you take 2-S, then France can join you in the war against S-P and grab its 3 cores, and 2-S can have the rest and become Italy, with the possibility of a continuing French-Italian alliance after unification...

If Longstreet's going to hop into the USA I could be UK if we want a human one to counter a human Russia, or alternately he'd be Spain and I'd remain USA. Thoughts?

Sanmartin, you're just too unreliable to be given a long-term country. I don't think there has ever been a session when you haven't left 30 minutes into it =\ We might be better off having someone else run it and you could drop by as a sub?

However Sardegna-Piedmonte is most willing to respect the French ambitions in Northwest Africa and discuss the future of Nice, if it has the knowledge of French support in the upcoming strive for Unification.

I think we can reach some sort of agreement then. Of course if a unified Italy wished to annex the Ottoman territories in North Africa and the native tripolitanians into a colonial empire for Italy, France would have no objections, since Italy is willing to respect french claims to the rest of the enormous region. Egypt we prefer to have remain independent for the moment, but circumstances can change...
