As a Liberal, I believe both firmly and fervently that individuals of all incomes and social classes should have the right to express their views at the ballot box every few years or so (provided of course that they aren't evil socialist revolutionaries...) and so therefore I happily cast my vote in favour of universal suffrage, and implore all my fellow Germans to do the same.

DFP - Demokratie Über Alles

I really should read the manifestoes more carefully before voting. Last time I was faced with an NLP/DFP choice, the former would the lesser of the two evils. I see now that the inverse is in fact true.

Symbolically, I therefore – for the first time in the AAR – forego the NLP and predecessor parties, and change my ballot to vote DFP

I can feel the conservatives cringing XD.

Sly DensleyBlair, still grabs the 1000th post and then changes votes to the one right party. I'm sure this didn't have anything to do with it. :p

I'd just blithely assumed that, though incredibly flawed, the NLP were less flawed than everyone else. I believe it was Herr Tanzhang who commented on the disturbing phenomena of following a party like a football team a while back in some other thread. No idea what he meant, though... :p

I vote DKRP of course.

That map of Germany brought warmth to my heart and a tear to my eye :'D Except for the Dalmatian enclave, who I hope we jettison shortly. I'm very happy to see the DZP fulfill her promise of finally making the Grossdeutsch Lösung a reality. No longer shall Germans be separated by borders! They even gave the Bohemians a fair shake. Good job, my papist friends. XD Now Germania is truly a force to be reckoned with.

As for the election, this one is tough. I can't really say I completely like any of the parties manifestos. I was very tempted to vote Zentrum again. Between them and the DKRP.
If only to push them ahead of the godless Bolsheviks, I vote DKRP!

T'was in the comments of my Roman AAR IIRC.

With votes slowing down as usual by this stage, now's as good a time as any to publish an official poll:

Total Vote: 42 (previous election we had 45, down from the record of 49)

DFP: 17
DZP: 10
DKRP: 6
NLP: 5
SDP: 4

Well, a very interesting election indeed with a fair few surprises. The DFP are doing better than anyone could have predicted - its they, not the SPD, who are gobbling up the old-DZP voters although the Centre remains a strong (if much reduced force). The Biggest news is the spectacular failure of the SPD to get the breakthrough so many predicted.

Don't forget that these votes only count towards 85% of the chamber, with things so close (as things stand the two liberal parties, natural allies, have 22 of 42 votes here) the minority vote could decide things. Naturally, I'll keep the minority vote a secret until the elections close.

Keep on voting! Polls close as per usual on Monday.

You heard the man: vote DFP!

What do you mean 'that's not what he said'? :D
