I have to say the election posters are a nice touch. :) Wonder if they will sway anyone who is still undecided. :p

I still haven't voted, though my mind is already mostly made up.

Damn the NLP and their enticing colonial programme (if you're European, of course. Not so enticing if you're a native...) They've stolen my vote.

When others start making posters, the Zentrumspartei cannot afford to remain invisible.

Vote DZP!

Welp, I have decided to vote for the German Centre Party/Deutsche Zentrumspartei/DZP!

For moderation, for a better Germany!

I cast my vote for the Deutschekonservative Reichspartei. Any other vote is madness that will only serve to weaken and impoverish the Reich!

Pretty proud of it if i say so myself. :p

Personally I think the bright shade of blue you used for the font at the end ruins it a little, but other than that, good. :) I'm rather impressed you were able to use black font on a black background and still make it legible!

Anyway, time for another timely reminder on Marquis de Bismarque's Colonial Policy:

Vote NLP for the German Colonial Policy.

I Really like that one, Especially like the Imperial Flag in the background. :) Could almost be real if not for the Semi-cartoonish picture of Madagascar. ;P

That was the idea though! All posters from this era (and virtually all German election posters for the next century or so) would have been hand-drawn or painted; that was the effect I was going for, but emulating a hand-drawn or hand-painted effect digitally is nigh impossible. The effect isn't very period-accurate IMO - trying to emulate a 19th Century artistic style with 21st Century equipment is also nigh impossible - but I think it gets the message across.

Oh, and I must say I do very much endorse your poster. Your usage of a satirical cartoon depicting Bismarck's total indifference to colonial pursuits while Britain, France, Russia, The Netherlands and even Japan, of all nations, are busy carving up the world between them sums up the anti-DKRP case perfectly.

Vote for Bismarck, and you vote for a man content to puff on his pipe and legislate against socialists while the rest of the world falls under the dominance of the French and the British and Dutch - I couldn't have put it better myself. :D

And while France, Britain, the Dutch etc. are all squabling amongst themselves with their oh so precious pieces of deserted land, Bismarck along with mighty Germany develops in peace, focusing on mainland Germany instead of spending money and time on wasteful things. No colonies means no overextensions meaning every war against any european power (excluding Great Britain ofc.) can be attacked head on, not needing to worry about colonies or such.
And I'm glad you enjoy my posters, my inspirations coming from yours. :p

Don't forget to bold votes, people!

Don't forget to bold votes, people!

I believe the above votes are fine, as they're separate from any large bodies of text. But yes, as a rule, bolding votes is generally good practise.

The polls are in! Here's where we stand.

DZP: 12
DFP: 8
SPD: 8 (effectively 4)
NLP: 7
DKRP: 5

Total: 40 votes (effectively 36)

Currently, the only coalition that can form a majority in the Reichstag would be a DZP/DFP government, with 20 votes out of 36. The DKRP or DZP need three more votes between them to form a majority of 20 out of 39 votes. The NLP seem unlikely to be involved in the government at this stage. Really, the race is between the DFP and DKRP, to see who will be the junior partner with the DZP. The moderates must be feeling pretty proud right now, they'll be in the government no matter what. The socialists, tied for 2nd with popular support, are actually the smallest party in the Reichstag with no chance of forming a government.

EDIT: Math really screwed with my head this post, so if I made a mistake please yell at me so I'll edit it.

EDIT2: See? I just spotted one.

EDIT3: I'm editing this post too much, but I wanted to add some speculation. If the DFP and DZP form a government, how will they negotiate on their policies? Peace with France and centralization they can find common ground on, but the reforms? Foreign policy? The economy? I don't know how they can reconcile. At the very least, the coalition will exist long enough to make peace with France before we faithful Germans have to march to the polls again.
