Spain in 1898 would disagree.
Spain was a neighbor? Last time I checked we didn't have a contiguous land connection.

This lagerly applied to Germany too. Most of the country was occupied by the Western Allies.
And in the hypothetical case the established Polish army would be an even bigger factor. Also, distance was not a factor. Yougoslavia bordered soviet puppet Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria so it could have made sense to have them too, to not have to worry about the long border.Yugoslavia is a rather special case in that regard. Established partisans and distance from the USSR itself were a large part of that decision.
The Soviets heavily supported polish fighters. Their polish fighters. While obviously neglecting the GiE fighter.Given Soviet *ahem* support of Polish partisans, I would think they would let the Poles take the brunt of the fighting, while ensuring that Soviet-friendly individuals reach positions of power, etc. I highly doubt Poland retains its independence without some significant threats from the Western Allies.

discreetly topple that.
True, but Yugoslavia had over 1 million men in uniform and and a significant military industry. Certainly a good value. Not really with NATO naval superiority in the Mediterranean.
This is insane. First, because Soviets gain nothing from a 3-way war, and potentially a lot to lose. Second, soldiers re not clone troopers and it takes time to indoctrinate them into a new war. They will simply not double cross brothers-in-arms overnight. It took 3 years of intense propaganda for the allied troops and soviets to start seeing each other as enemies. Which is why the 1945 offensive plans were shelved.Who said anything about them being discreet? It's not hard to backstab a government when they invite your soldiers in. One second the Germans are shooting at the Poles, the next both the Germans and the Soviets (who are in the Polish trenches, so to speak) are shooting at the Poles.
Dude, you really need to study. By your reckoning, UK and France are not neighbors.Spain was a neighbor? Last time I checked we didn't have a contiguous land connection.
Russia did X, because everybody did X.

And Japan invaded UK colonial possessions - yet UK, for some reason, got mad. As it did in 1982, when Argentina invaded its colonial possession.I didn't know they were separated by the entire Atlantic ocean? The US invaded Spanish colonial possessions, sure, but not Spain.
300-400 years ago, it was accepted practice in Europe to not bathe, and catching fleas in another's hair was part of flirting. Now, in international relations, its ok to fund a revolt, instigate a civil war, forbid the local government from using airpower, while bombing the government yourself, then kill the leader in the street. Now, the country is in shambles, infighting is widespread, and more people die every day then from the actions of the government prior to the event, quality of life dropped...And that makes it OK? lol I guess what's right and wrong is determined by majority rule.

Changing your words? You said:That's relevant to the original point how? The US hasn't invaded the home soil of one of its neighbors since the 1840's.
I see nothing about the "home soil". Cuba belonged to Spain long before US even existed, even as a colony of England. Just admit you were wrong, and that your precious USA did some bad things, and is little better any other powerful country in history of mankind.Probably laugh, and send a couple carrier groups to dispel any delusions of grandeur. Then again since we haven't invaded our neighbors since the 1840s (and even then that was totally different than the Winter War) I doubt this situation would arise.
Its relevant, because you condemn SU for the Winter War, and not everybody else, when they did very much the same thing.Again, this is relevant how? I simply was pointing out the absurdity of determining right and wrong simply based on what "everyone" is doing.
Real ones? What the hell are real "Native Americans"? Last time I checked if you where born on American soil, it made you a real Native American. And more importantly what does it have to do with the tactics of WW2?Native Americans. I mean the real ones
Amerindians. The ones who lived in America before Columbus.Real ones? What the hell are real "Native Americans"? Last time I checked if you where born on American soil, it made you a real Native American. And more importantly what does it have to do with the tactics of WW2?
I knew what he meant. Though the point was that it doesn't matter, it doesn't further the OP's question. All it was there for was to stir things up.Amerindians. The ones who lived in America before Columbus.
