Heh... it's all in order now. Once I got the hang of the new photobucket I quite liked it.

Oh - congratulations on your 4th place in the ACA's. I know you've done better, but given the overall quality of AARs this season, it's still an accomplishment.

Awesome chapter -- the Canadians and British are likely unable to do much of anything right now. I feel sorry for the Canadians, though. They're seemingly out of the game for at least a year. :(

Good going in France, though I wonder if France actually got the Vichy event or if you annexed them?

The Canadians are probably out of the game. By the time they have another corps up and available, things will be decided. Britain was more careful and lost not that much though the Allies in general seem to have suffered quite badly by now.

Are you guys going after Yugoslavia etc?

The Allied players have indeed lost a sizable amount of manpower in France. I think this AAR will come down to the initial stages Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union. Over previous Carnage AAR's, Zid has proven masterful at maneuvering and withdrawing troops to avoid encirclements. I'm looking forward to see how much success Captain will have in seizing chunks of the Red army during the onset of Barbarossa. With the early Soviet aggression, the pre-war borders are significantly different. I look forward to seeing the adjustments in strategy that the Axis will implement to deal with the Soviets starting off in Hungary.

This should limit the amount of Flying Circus that the allies can launch while easy's occupied in the east. Though the loss of hungaria's army should balance that out a little, since they are now no longer gonna contributing their 20 divisions to the front.

I don't see this one living long unless if the USA get involved really soon.

Spekaing of which, what's the status on triangle of madness? Any countries going to join either of the factions anytime soon? And how far are the USofA away from the capitalist corner?

But Russians (Daphne(?)) are a juggernaught to be reckoned with. They'll have to bear the brunt of a war, but they can hold out a while.

What is Japan doing all the time anyway?

Hate to say it, but I told you so allies. Sure Canadian annihilation is not a Stalingrad-type disaster, but it effectively makes up for losing Hungary.

I am curious what Japan is up too?

Love the AAR, I think this could settle into being a long one, Festung Europa!

Congrats Captain, you got France, and a bonus feast of Canadian military personnel. Zid and the Soviets await, though if I'm Zid I'm in no rush as I know time favors me (more tech, more troops, more MP). If I'm Zid, I contemplate making a grab for the rest of the Balkans and if possible Turkey and Persia. As for the Allies, even though France fell they should feel good about their effort as GER and ITA really had to work for the reward. What I want to know is why FRA didn't go GiE; those screenies sure looked like an annexed France.

It will but the USSR is quite capable of beating the Axis on its own if given time to do so. Removing potential Axis allies and redrawing the original battle lines may be worth the extra few months before the US gets cranking.

Good update. I still am at a loss as to how you manage to make good screenshots whils playing in multiplayer mode. Probably comes with experience huh.

Just pressing F11 is not that hard work, but sure, its a little extra. But you know, committing som much to the AAR-writing its cruisal to get good pics. So I take a lot and then only choose those that make sense.

The Italian borders hurt my eyes! Will you mod them to become nicer?

The new photobucket is simple, but efficient. Assuming that you resize the screenshots in another program, it's just a matter of uploading and clicking the . The looks are improved, too, but I quite frankly dont give a damn.
Heh, no. We have to live with it. Yes, the new PB seemed clever once I got the hang of it. No, looks doesnt matter much... in this area.
Good going in France, though I wonder if France actually got the Vichy event or if you annexed them?

We annexed them. Or actually, first we sellected annexation. Then, thinking some extra, we wanted to change to Vichy but it was not posible to take the first choice away it seemed.

Yugoslavia? Heh, Bobby, you want me to tell things in advance now ;)

Yeah. It is a clash I look forwards too... and fear. If I get stuck in the East the wins in the West will matter little.

I don't know exactly. Where they should be during a fairly normal game. Not anywhere close yet. Few countries of significanse are close to joining any faction. I think we all have lost faith in minor AI countries and no side seem to committ leadership for diplomacy.

Japan is laying low, trading with US (denying Allies to put a player on US according to HR) and enjoying peace. Or actually being bored to death with peace.

Yes. That is correct.

Which USSR has done quite efficiently so far. But theres a few minors left for sure. Especially Romania. I am quite sure we will see an attack at Romania. Turkey and Bulgaria might not be worth it. But it depends.

If I'm Zid I Dow the rest of the Balkans at the same time, but the crucial ones are Yugoslavia and Romania. Taking those cuts off your route into the Balkans and expands the area where they have a direct border with German land. Greece and Bulgaria are optional, and I'd consider Turkey a no-go. The infra and terrain of Greece and Bulgaria mean that even if both joined the Axis Zid wouldn't need to overly worry as you couldn't mount a serious offensive through there.

Also, is Japan going to consolidate in China and annex/puppet the rest of the warlords, or has it done that already?

With the Canadians not a factor for the forseeable future and the Brits having lost a corps or more troops in Europe already AND with Russia delivering adding the the USA neutrality, a fortress Europe isn't immediately needed. Of course, the Axis do need to fortify their conquests and churn out more units, but for now, there is a (albeit quickly closing) window of opportunity.

Good show! I think if I were the USSR I wouldn't worry at all about the US neutrality increase. I'd be invading my minor neighbors from Persia to Norway. Well maybe not those two, but definitely Romania and Turkey (for the Allied sea access). 1 point of US neutrality is not that bad, and we've seen that US entry early in the war is not immediately decisive. The US needs tons of time to build up their forces anyway, so no major loss if their small army is not available for an extra month or two.
