Blimps seem very strange and useless to me.

I've tried to deploy them around my maps, yet hardly anyone ever uses them.

So how are they supposed to be used? How do you get people to use them?

And how come they are not a tourist attraction?

you need to place them where people want to go. if you place them where no one wants to go then you shouldn't be surprised if no one uses them. they work just the same as every other transport system in the game in that regard.

well, they're quite slow, so if you plop these blimp stations too close to each other, your cim's might decide they'd be better-off walking to their destination instead of waiting for that blimp to show up

Wow, go figure, they need to be at locations people want to travel between! I was just placing them miles away from anything and hoping people would travel to them for no apparent reason. But now I know.

I suspect that speed may be the issue I have, my locations are already well served with train and metro (and buses), I had thought that tourists in particular would use the Blimps even if they were not fast.

As odd as it sounds I tend to use Blimps for simple looks over function. If your city is huge then by all means blimps could be used to go from one extremity to the other, but most players here that I've noticed tend to build a large downtown-like town and then move on to another and therefore don't find any use for the blimps that the other modes of transportation can't handle.

It all depends on how your city looks & functions @NosajDraw
