Hi,
I've recently encountered a problem when playing Cities: Skylines that causes my monitor to lose signal and my GPU fans to run at full speed. The PC then won't shut down unless I perform a Hard Shutdown. This problem only occurred after I got a new 1440p monitor. However, on the previous 1080p one, I was using the Dynamic Resolution mod to play at 150% resolution (1620p) while now I play at the native 1440p, and right before the crash happens, the GPU temps seem to be normal (around 70-79 C), which makes me think that this is not an overheating issue or that the GPU is under too much load (technically, it should be under less load, right?)
I've been using the monitor for other games (specifically The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Sea of Thieves, Battlefield 4, and Minecraft) for about a week but only Cities: Skylines for a few days, which crashes after about 20 min of gameplay.
Event Viewer lists this Critical Error:
Event ID: 41, Source: Kernel-Power, Task Category: 63
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
Here are my PC specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X @4.2 GHz
GPU: MSI RX 580 ARMOR OC
MoBo: MSI B450-A PRO MAX
RAM: 2x8 GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200 MHz
PSU: OCZ ZT 550 W Fully Modular 80+ Bronze
Monitor: Gigabyte M27Q
Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 19042
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
