The Ak K. should definately also break all vassalizations. I vassalized them with Ottos easily when they were a minor, and two years later I was the overlord of something very big.

Oh I just realized as I was looking around at what I have, that I still have all of Isengard's event changes and improvements on my Timurid setup. I'm going to take a look at them and then they can be posted for general consumption. (At this point there wasn't much for the Koyunlu's but there was his awesome working at helping the Timurids  )

Good news! Isengard's stuff is just like a wonderful cleanup of all my Timurid stuff with all the logical changes. I'm going to spend tonight (as I set at home on percocet just after getting my wisdoms out) testing them and my new Koyunlu stuff and I should have some neat stuff to post for Friday. :D

Just as a slight update to point out that I am still working at this.

So far, in my 3 tests up to about 1450, the two Koyunlu hordes play nicely. Haven't seen the Ak Koyunlu disappear as of yet (expanded them to have Sivas, Kurdistan, and Nuyssaybin at start), although every one in a while the Kara Koyunlu manages to wrangle a province away from them. And then having pushed all the incentives for the Kara's to attack the Timurids to about 1450ish, things stay pretty stable. Now its about time to get fixing the events to get the Karas to form an "empire".

Oh and on the Timurid front, I reduced their initial bb to 10 which combined with Isengard's changes seems to help quite a bit. The Timurids, so far haven't fall prey to a three prong attack by Gujarat, the Uzbeks, and Karas like they use to. In fact, the Uzbeks (prior to 1450ish) only tend to get the provinces that are autoceded in the "The Uzbeg Offensive" event. So, so far positive results on getting the Timurids to manage quite well through Shah Rukh's reign.

Here's a tiny bit of the new stuff I'm working on for the Kara Koyunlu.
BAS is the tag I'm currently using for the junior branch of the Kara Koyunlu in Bagdhad. Its also going to be used for the Ak Koyunlu branches that hailed from there (in the new Ak Koyunlu Fall / Rise of Persia sequence). I've been calling them the Bagdhad Koyunlu as currently I can't think of anything that'd work better. Suggestions?

Well I've now after a few tests can say that I got the whole Koyunlu situation working up to about 1450ish. Which means, although I have the 'new' War of the Sheep events, I haven't really tested them...or rather I have, but I forgot to put in more aggressive AIs, so nothing really happened... :eek:o

As soon as I got that straightened out (perhaps tomorrow), I'll finish adjusting the new Persia sequence and then I'll post everything.

The Breakup of the Timurids will now be having a separate rump state of Fars form in Persia, easy pickings for the Sheep. See the Timurid thread for more on this.

Yea actually thats another thing I need to work on, as currently the Sheep don't really have any incentive to grab the region. But I'm waiting on doing that as I'm prioritizing the destruction of the Kara Koyunlu and the Rise of Persia before implementing the Timurid stuff.

*beep*

So unfortunately all this is going to have to be delayed a bit more. In a little under 8 hours, I'll be hopping on a flight to finally return back to school. So yeah in the midst of getting re-situated in my dorm room, my job interviews, and class scheduling (no fun stuff as I don't do that :p ), I'll probably just be a board browser at best the next 3/4 days or so. Which also means that I probably won't be scripting anytime soon, although I think I've pretty much conceptualized all the ones I don't currently have. But yeah, my aplogies.

Eek! :eek:o

Just a status report to relate that although I've gotten classes under control, I've recently been struck down by a wicked cold, so progress is minimal.

So while I won't have the new Persia sequence finished, I should have a new set of Sheep stuff downloadable for sometime in the upcoming week ( I need to change my tag definitions for the Basrah and Iraq to match the tag thread and implement some new AIs). These new sequences will retrofit interactions in the region up to about 1490ish.

Okay, so in a little bit, I'm going to post up all the new events that I have for the Kara Koyunlu, Ak Koyunlu, Iraq, and Basrah. Unfortunately...no progress has been made since last week (hellish school!), so that means that I still don't have to proper AIs nor have I made the switch with the IRA and BAS tags. So the main bit of this posting is just to get some feedback on event choices and such. (i.e. I think I may have been a bit restrictive on actually allowing for choice... :eek:o )

I did want to look into the AkK/QaraK situation at one point, but, sadly, school has since intervened. I'm now doing some background reading before getting back into looking closer at this. It sounds like Garbon is doing some great work, I'll leave him to it until I can get some time so that I can contribute.

With respect to religion, it's a bit tough, because this whole region had what one author called a "confessional ambiguity" at the time, that is, exact religion of rulers vs regions wasn't important--there were a lot of Shi'ite inclined leaders who ruled Sunni regions effectively and vice versa. Not until Ismail and the Saffavids forced the issue did it become a flashpoint. Still, making Qara Koyunlu Shi'ite does fix a number of unintended problems, but I'll have to do some more reading before asserting that.

The Ak Koyunlu did go on to create quite the empire, so I'm a bit cautious about the proposal of cutting back on the mutual AkK/QaraK core tags. I suppose it could be argued that this was "empire by accident," but the fact is that they did pick up a lot of Timurid territory.
