Bizarreness!

So, I was playing along in my Italy game, entering 1945. I've avoided joining a faction, and am playing around with finding a reasonable way to attack the UK and make a successful Acquire Territory - Egypt and the Middle East.

So far, I've had a couple of tries, and restored to a saved game. I've Conquered Yugoslavia and Greece and Turkey. I was building up for a thrust at Syria from Turkey (main force), Egypt (minor force) and Ethiopia (minor force). As I was getting ready, building a last few corps, I got a big surprise.

I saw the pop-up message "Canada enforced Conquer on Germany". All of a sudden, the France and Austria borders were lined with masses of Canadian troops! I have no idea what was going on with the AI especially Germany, but that was completely unexpected.

What's the most bizarre thing you've seen from this game?

South Africa invaded Germany only to have the Soviets beat them to Berlin. I was playing as Nat. China.

Probably Canada managed to capture a German port and was lucky to receive massive reinforcements (ending up as expeditionary forces) from the Allies.

poland conquering germany. both AI. i was czechoslovakia. resisted any "agreements" to give up provinces. germany had units at frances and my borders, ignoring conquest and advance of poland. but they managed to overrun maginot line and my fortifications.

Uk puppeting Germany in 1939 by NU hits of their aviation. I was italy, and I saw all the troops in SU frontier coming to me.

I was Japan, DOW'd Vichy France whose Guarentee by Germany was ignored (as I was in the Axis), but Vichy proceeded to then join the Axis, a faction whose leader didnt assist them as promised and whose other member they were already at war with. Once in the Axis Vichy France then proceeded to embargo their own faction Leader Germany!

The most bizare thing must have been in HOI 2, where you could conquer the Balkans as Romania as well, but as soon as you make a move for Austria, suddenly everyone and their grandmother starts declaring war on each other. Germany vs Allies, Soviets vs Allies, Germany vs Comintern. All the while, I'm happily eating neutral Italy

Really, tfh. Got nat chi to axis, as well as jap in 1937. Jap declared war on nat chi. War between faction members (because then I was at war with japan)! Germany gainst jap, and no posibilita for peace. I had to puppet jap.

Vichy French joining the Allies immediatly after I (Germany) conquored it, then it flipped back and forward until it became an allied gov in exile.
