Hey guys!
So I finally managed to get a Bizantium game going (not the best at this game
). After many failures I got a very lucky start with Aragon and Hungary both rivaling Ottos and Venice, so I was able to ally them and call them in. I managed to 100% them, taking my core backs aswell as a Bulgarian core and the 3 provinces right over the straight. Then I went for Serbia, since that gold province seemed juicy and they were my rivals. (Needed some prestige for the gems event and some pp for the extra MP) Took 3 provinces and vassalized the rest. They were in a war with venice, so I got leadership of the war and got all their territories outside of their main italian holdings. Then Austria rivaled me, and I lost my alliance with Aragon.
Now I am sitting with an alliance with Hungary, I am afraid of Austria attacking me since they have a core on Dubrovnic.
What I am wondering is were to go from here?
I am thinking of Religious as my first group, since the core works on pretty much every1 and I have quite a bit of converting to do. Followed by Influence (I just love it too much) and admin. I am the kind of player that relies more on diplomacy to do the fighting, so I probably won't take a mil idea group until I have to (5th idea, or if I go too far away for my allies to help me, ei india). Does that seem okay, or am I missing something?
Right now my main problem is Austria, I don't think Hungary would honor their alliance, and Austria outnumbers me hard, even without taking alliances into account. The Ottomans are pretty much non-existant (and it's 1466 o.0) I think after my next war with them (truce breaks in 1471) they will be gone for good. So I don't really know what to do, i have reclaimed all of greece, and most of the balkans (Hungary took the rest). Obviously I will expand into Anatolia as fast as I can, but other than that? Both hungary and Austria block the north, I don't have the diplomacy to go against the Mamelucks in the south, nor into Italy (Somehow Aragon has eaten over have of castille, and are allied to Austria). Poland also seems too strong and I can't seem to get more stong alliances besides Hungary.
