Is there any chance this event will fire in my situation?

Currently it is 1942 and I occupy all of the European provinces necessary for the Bitter Peace.

I am not allied with Japan, in fact, the SU DoWed Japan (sic) in 1940 and occupied all of Korea and most of China, thus the chances of the Japanesse occupying the Russian far east provinces is nil.

Lastly, if the Bitter Peace will not fire, then how do I go about firing it manually, because, quite frankly it is still a tough fight in the SU for me, and I don't want to take 2 years to walk my troops all the way to Asia (which would be necessary for the Annexation.)

Just reviewed the event files for BP for DD 1.2. Apparently it doesn't matter if you're allied with Japan. If the SU is at war with Japan it defaults to the "Japan wants a bigger slice" BP event. Therefore if Vladivostok is in the SU's hands it won't fire.

If you want to fire it manually press F12 and enter "event 2645" to trigger it manually.

Also since not being allied with Japan makes no difference now that the SU and Japan are at war you might consider trying to ally with them to get their naval and ship techs.

I was just looking at 2645 again. *damn these OR and NOT's* :)

Anyway it appears that it only takes either Sverdlovsk or Vladivostok to trigger B P for this event. Can someone verify that? That's what it looks like to me. This might have changed with 1.2.

event = {
id = 2645
random = no
country = SOV

trigger = {
war = { country = GER country = SOV }
OR = {
control = { province = 56 data = GER } # Paris is not free
control = { province = 56 data = VIC } # Paris is not free
}
AND = {
NOT = {
control = { province = 187 data = SOV } # Leningrad has fallen
control = { province = 163 data = SOV } # Stalingrad has fallen
control = { province = 175 data = SOV } # Moscow has fallen
control = { province = 1907 data = SOV } # Baku has fallen
}
OR = {
NOT = { control = { province = 1572 data = SOV } }# Sverdlovsk has fallen
NOT = { control = { province = 1372 data = SOV } }# Vladivostok has fallen
}
NOT = { war = { country = GER country = JAP } }
}
OR = {
alliance = { country = GER country = JAP }
war = { country = SOV country = JAP }
}
random = 35

}

I don't really want to ally with Japan until the SU is out of the equation, as Japan (even though they had their ass handed to them by the SU) DoWed the US in 1941. As long as the US has not DoWed me, I'd like to avoid a war with them until the SU is out of the equation.

I'd prefer not to cheat at all, but it will probablly take me years to walk to Asia, and quite honestly, a German annexation of Russia is not realistic.

I may have missed this, are all of Russia's vital points captured? Do you have Baku as well? (I dont consider it as part of Euro Russia although I could be wrong) Maybe when you and Japan have all but the ones in Central Asia like almost to the middle of russia if say your going in from the Far East the event will trigger. Or maybe its just by chance. Anyways tried to help :D

Yes, Baku is in my hands. Unfortunately, the Russians DoWed Japan in 1940 and stripped Korea and all of Japan's gains in China from Japan... so the likelyhood of Japan doing any of the leg work in the east is nil.

Meaning, if the eastern provinces are necessary for the BP event, I truly might as well annex... which I don't want to do because...

A. It will take literally years for me to get there...

and

B. I consider a German annexation of Russia entirely unrealistic

The Germans never wanted all of Russia, and couldn't hold it down even if they did. I don't want to break emmersion for myself by annexing in a way that clearly would not have occured irl.

With Russia at war with Japan, you need Paris, Leningrad, Moscow, Stalingrad, Baku... and either Sverdlovsk or Vladivostok.

Germany cannot be at war with Japan.

With these conditions met, there is a 35% chance per 10 days that the event will trigger.

NOTE: these remarks apply only to Domsday v1.2

There is a bug in the original event (Doomsday v1.0 and v1.1) which prevents it from firing correctly!

If you are still playing v1.0 or v1.1, you must edit event 2645 in your .../Doomsday/db/events/ussr.txt file, to either :

1) put a # in front of the line which checks for a war between Germany and Japan.

2) or wrap a NOT = { ... } around that line

3) or move it up into the NOT = { ... } block, above it.

... or just upgrade to version 1.2
