I played on my '38 scenario last night, being at war with the USSR, pretty much following a historical approach. This is my first Doomsday game. I haven't played HOI since HOI 1.

I get to Sverdlovsk in '44, already occupying Leningrad, Stalingrad, Moscow and Baku. Japan has Vladivostok. I already knew about the requirements of the Bitter Peace from these forums. I decided that enough was enough, and settled back to wait for the Soviet surrender. It didn't come. In fact, after half a year, I decided to move on, as perhaps I needed something else. in '45 i annexed USSR. The Bitter Peace never came. With a 35% chance, that's kind of odd in two years time.

I was allied with Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania and Vichy at the time. Japan had a few asian puppets also.

Did I misunderstand something about this event? Had I known that a full anexation was necessary, I might have considered taking control of Japan to speed things up a little. But this being my first DD game, I kind of had my hands full with the Germans... :rolleyes:

Good game, nonetheless.

Did you fix the BP event? It's boned...
Code:
		war = { country = GER country = JAP }
		alliance = { country = GER country = JAP }

As written, if Japan is in the Axis, the event requires Germany to be both allied with Japan, and at war with Japan.

You should move the "war = { country = GER country = JAP }" trigger up into the "NOT" block just above it... or rem it out with a #
