The Bitter Peace is unrealistic in my eyes.
Ok, the "oh so great" Soviet Union just lost the war, they were crippled.
That would, realistically, inspire a counter revolution, so to speak, declerations of independance, or a civil war.
I mean, they conceded, and gave 1/3 of their country away (More if at war with Japan), now, would the Fascists and Democratic enthusiasts in the country not see this as an oppertunity to strike? For countries such as Uzbekistan etc... To break away?
I mean, you could have many posibilities: The country turns fully Democratic or Right Wing Authoritarian.
Or it has a civil war; Maybe countries trying to break away revolt, and declare war, along with some provinces that would be the Democratic/Authoritarian Russian Federation - They might ally with the break away states for more power, declare war on them or just leave them be. (That is if they break away - if they don't, then it should just be the two sides) (Also, maybe Germany, or some other third party will intervene to help, if Germany intervenes, then it should go more Right Wing/Authoritarian, if the US intervenes, more Democratic etc...). Maybe then, there's no "civil war", maybe the states just break away, maybe they're crushed, maybe they're left alone as the USSR is too weak (I mean, in real life, their troops would be seriously demoralised, weakened, and would have to travel from the German border to there, which I doubt they'd do.) Then, maybe there's just a quick and swift coup, no need for a war, just a group taking control of the government...
For one, they should disband the entire Commintern - I'm sick of Germany deploying stacks of 45 divisions on the border, so I, as Britain or America, can just strole my way to Berlin! And why would, if the USSR leaves, Mongolia and Tannu Tuva stick around in a completely useless alliance - At least, if they are going to, keep them in a small alliance, not the Commintern, so the USSR, Japan, and whoever else is bordering them, can stick stacks upon stacks on the border.
It's just seriously unrealistic to have them lose a war, and sit there, perfectly fine. I mean, all the above can be done with events. And would make it a lot more interesting - Germany might have a new ally, stretching the Axis from France to the Pacific. Maybe the US could re-open the Eastern front (Though, obviously, not wise in it's current state, but if the US lands divisions after divisions it could get interesting).
It should be random whether a country breaks away - Maybe all states break away, and you're left with a totaly different Asia, maybe one breaks away, or none. I'm not sure if that's possible or not...
Just, what are your opinions on the present Bitter Peace, and what you think of my idea, also if you have any ideas of your own, or that you'd like to add on. Feel free to voice your opinions
