So, check this save out, it's a weird one...

I picked some relative to be the prince-bishop of Salzburg. He was married at the time. That's never been a problem, so I make him a bishop. First sign of trouble: the game labels him a count. Second weirdness: his heir is a woman.

Now, check out this save, because it's super weird. He's the character I'm at war with here.

While the war is on, his heir is the baroness in the county. Okay, she's at least a relative, but females can't be bishops...

Now, raise the levies, and put him in prison, and you get even greater weirdness: his heir becomes an unrelated ruler in Byzantium.

I suspect this somehow came from the province (and all Bavaria, actually) having been Orthodox a decade previous. But, the game doesn't understand...
