Instead of spamming the request thread with this, I decided to create a new thread...

I want to ask you, BJ, whether it would be possible for you to remake your map with the map colours from Victoria?

I fiddled around a bit with it myself, resized it and tried to improve some edges - but it just doesn't fit all that accurately... sure, it can be used - but it's a bit out of sync...

Alternatively, how about a "best of Paradox menus" featuring stuff from EU2, HoI, Victoria and CK?

Yeah that could be cool, my next project is to port the HOI, Vicky and CK menu to EU2.

Btw, why not use the hanging flags for your mod?

Hanging flags? Woah... but that would be a lot of flags to re-do!

And they would be too big, wouldn't they? Besides, my mod isn't only about the Victoria period - it's all the way from 1419... and soon, it will be from 1337.

Btw, perhaps we should ask Paradox before snatching graphics from one of their games to another? I mean, is it legal to take eg. graphics from Victoria and make it downloadable?

But I'm intrigued, gotta admit that...

What the... I didn't know you did that!

But I think I'll rather use the HoI template actually, as I like the colours there... the Victoria shields are too dark, but the HoI shields are nice and bright. Sure, the shading probably looks better in the Victoria shields - but eh, can't have it all...

But of course, using hanging flags will require not only the making of a bunch of new flags, but also some severe alteration to other ingame menu graphics... but you already know this.

Great ! I would suggest another design, mixing the second map (Vicky map) with the seas' colors of the first map (CK minimap). It may be worse a try ! (sorry but my skills with drawing are not really good)

I tried to make some HoI flags on my own, but it didn't turn out too well...

Here they are, side by side with the real HoI flags. The difference is clear:

Hmmm.... but I'm still not sure teh bright Vicky flags will look as good as the HoI flags... but I guess I'll have to see.

Still, I don't think the biggest problem is their large size, but rather the fact that lots of interface graphics will have to be altered...

Is your EU2 hanging flags template available for download btw?

Also, what would you suggest I do with the small shields? Keep them as they are, or make them small hanging shields (eg. just resize the big ones)?
