I'd really like to see a bunch of techs focusing on Biological Warfare (adds a modifier to a planet with progressively worse effects before eventually killing off pops at random).

Other types of fun new techs could include capturing/torturing scientists for research points, strip mining planets, poisoning food supplies (which now with global food could cause empire-wide issues!) etc.

What ideas along these lines do you guys have? Here's an image to get you in the same frame of mind:

I agree whole heartedly, can you imagine how horrific it could be for the local Fanatical Purifiers to "purify" your world to something they like better via terraforming... with your pops still on it?

It would be like amageddon!

I'd like more biological weapons in general to research. i.e. like the preth swarm has. One of the ideas I have previously suggested was that a biological weapon type should be added in the plantoids dlc as an alternative when customizing your empire and then later upgraded just like the other weapon types. The imagination is the limit here imo and perhaps balancing/gameplay details I guess.

I don't know if a phenotype dlc is the right place for this kind of stuff..... Having a bio-weapon "primary" type might be tough - I'd rather see them as optional "sub" weapons - maybe allow for things like bomber-class ships etc.

More fantastic weapons for Stellaris could be interesting. Swarms of bioengineered spaceborn creatures that on lowest range spit acid on enemy ships and evade detection from PD. Psionic weaponry that warps the space around a ship to damage it. Spacemines that attack on low range. Etc.
But atm balance of existing weapons ist much more important than adding new ones.

Also i see no need for more cruelties for cruelties sake. Eating pops is great though!

I have dem feels next expansion is going to be Wars / Armies oriented tbh.

Is there not one of the "space monsters" than give a fighter tech close to that?

From memory it graphically look far less cool than your description, but it is the same overall idea.
