I think the yellow target things flash for a period of time (a couple of minutes?) after you discover an anomaly?

The green ones and the yellow one that was over my capital as soon as I started the game? No idea.

What are they and how can I get rid of them? The galaxy map screen is just a mess of flashing stuff. Super distracting.

The green and yellow are the flashes that happen when say a construction is complete to highlight the system. They're supposed to go away after a couple pulses, but it looks like right clicking the notifications away makes the lights dance for ages. As far as I can tell they don't pulse for a set amount of real time, but in game calendar time, let a few days pass and they seem to stop (at least for me they did). You can prevent that by not closing the notification and letting it fade (again, at least for me). Hopefully this is just a bug that gets hotpatched soon, this is close to unplayable for me at times and I'm only exaggerating slightly.

I just don't want them.

I don't care why they were put in or what they are supposed to help with.
They don't help.
They don't tell anyone whose played the game for a while anything they don't already know and what they are already receiving other notices of such as anomalies and constructions as you still get the other notices as well as these flashing circles of pain.

It's not just annoying.

It makes looking at the screen painful for anyone with light sensitivity issues.

I can only take playing for a brief period of time before having to abandon the game.

And it is slowly driving me away from this game because I can't imagine what the late game is going to look like when numerous things are constantly being built and science ships are either gathering research or scrap from destroyed enemy fleets.

Same here. The yellow flashes blink for a long time after dismissing event notifications.

I get a headache after only a few minutes.

Stellaris is now unplayable. It was my chillout game and now its a fast headache generator :)

Please fix it.

At least I'm not the only one who hates this, please Paradox just give us the option to turn them off. They are VERY, VERY distracting and they really do hurt the eyes when you play for a longer time.
