Big problem with multiplayer

Hello guys

I have big problem - I can't play multiplayer campaign with my friend, because his game is always crushing (for example when he is making alliance with me or
when we are starting time). There is no problems in single player. Where is the problem and how to fix it? Can you help us guys?

PS. 1. We both have original (from the shop) copies of the game - we aren't pirates. 2. He have Windows 8.1 - he tried to launch game with compatibility mode with Windows 7 and even Windows XP.

I have the physical copy of EU3, and it works with XP and Vista, and I'd assume 7, but I don't know about 8. The physical copy should have the registation key on the inside cover. Have you both patched it to 5.2 (or at least 5.1)?

Yes, we both have version 5.1... I don't really know where is the problem...

Try emptying both of your caches (eu3 folder/map/cache) and restarting the game twice.
