From the values this could be due to the conversion Energy->Oil. There is a slider in the production tab that regulates this process an can be adjusted to your needs. Later the process of conversion gets bedder via techs.

For that, I don't added the plants in the 1.00 version (but you can build)

This is a problem I think. As the UK in 1933 i am losing 1200 energy per day before i can research the technology to begin building synthetic oil plants. Thus i am continually at zero energy as there simply are not enough trade partners to get 1200 energy from??

Surely this is a problem? Changing the oil conversion is not an option as it is already at max which is a paltry 6.2 as i have not been able to build synth oil plants yet). I would also imagine i would need to build a lot of plants to make 1200 energy per day!

As the original poster said i think this only happened after installing the new fix. Thanks.

Does the AI know not to convert energyt o oil when they are losing energy? If not, you shouldn't have added them in.

It seems that the AI can´t handle the loss of energy. In July 1934 the whole Soviet Army was gone. Starved to death. There were some empty tanks driving around and one brave mountain division was still watching the Japanese border. :D
The air and naval units were still alive but without supplies.
This resulted in some nice revolts in the Ukraine.

I confirm this major bug - the AI can't handle the energy conversion sliders resulting in massive, crippling energy shortages. Teach the AI to convert energy at a fixed percentage of their excess energy production and again only once a reasonable stockpile level has been achieved.

Good eleven_west. I launched a game as France and a single energy to oil plant operated at 100% capacity in 33 (3. something output) consumes 600+ energy which is not balanced.

Another question? Sliders show a need of 20+ PP in supply. I spend 0, it is shown as being red in the production screen but i still have a positive outcome of supply and my stock is going up. (Same game with France, well, not game, same launch I would say).

So is that why I am rich as Germany? All those countries constantly eating up my Energy in Trade Requests. Glad I have energy now as not to be traded but I was wondering why UK with -50 relations wanted so much energy now I know. I turned my 3 plants off cuz until I have the necessary techs no sense to use and you cant use Synthetic Material Plant till you get the tech researched regardless. I think the plants are waste of time so early, I say turn them off and make it researchable to get them and build them especially before 1936. Did any country seriously have plants dedicated to conversion by 1933? Just my thoughts on it.

Uuuh, maybe you should be asking yourself why this seemed to work fine in AoD but not in IC? What does IC does differently that makes this feature break the game and what you can do to fix it?

Maybe there's a language barrier here but this statement doesn't fill me with encouragement that the game will be playable in time for The Great Game III's conversion from Victoria II to HoiX.

The problem is simple

The AoD don't have any command to change the AI slider conversion.

Iron Cross changed the ratio conversion (energy-oil,...) to the historical info.

In the original aod, the ratio conversion are high, the world have many resources, and this error are not visible (the ai can have the slider conversion at 100% all the game).

In Iron Cross the resources have historical values, and this produce that.

The team can increase ratio conversion, but this change reduce the importance of the conversion because all players can have the slider at 100% and will not have any problem

Can you keep the conversion slider control available only to the human player, and use the traditional conversion logic for AI players?
Historically, only Germany had synthetic fuel plants prior to 1950, so limit initial plants to Germany with the rest of the world being able to build them after researching the technology. USSR, UK and everyone else shouldn't begin with plants. Then assign low research priority for fuel conversion to the AI player and limit the number of plants to build according to resources/IC size/levels of fuleand energy stockpiles?

This is why I stated earlier the simple fact that playing any scenario PRIOR to 1936 and you have AoD + IC please dont whine about the conversion process when you have not even RESEARCHED it to have it. I am quite frankly bewildered that so many are moaning about a bug in which the devs have said "We didnt put this in prior to 1936 because of AI command" and yet so many are still making it a big deal. Granted the AI now is throwing all the resources away due to someone on this forum that absolutely needed to have the plants at start of the game. So what the devs put into making the game playable with out it and it worked, the community required it be there and now its broken and everyone is up and arms about it. Sigh, I know some have to have this to play, but personally its not a game breaker, especially since historically only Germany ever made or even produced Synthetic Oil let alone Materials. Give it a rest people, I say to DEVS, take it OUT! Let the manual player build them and the AI if it so needs to.

+1 Philippus, something is obviously broken and needs to be fixed. All country with a conversion plant go havoc and there is no way to play. If I am a strictly simple customer I do not even care about the reason, I do not even care about this forum (or I do not even know it even exists), what I care about is not having all the main powers of the world without army or production after 3 years of game...

I fail to see the point of having a plant that costs you hundreds of energy on a daily basis.
I just turned it off and never look at it again.
If the AI cant handle it and lose all their energy over its an issue that definitely needs fixing.
