BICE Hungary issues HOI4

Hey,

I am having issues while playing Hungary and trying to reform the Austro-Hungarian empire. For some reason whenever I start the national focus to declare war on Austria, Germany and Italy immediately guarantee their independence. Even if guarantees are turned off. Is this a bug? How can one reasonably expect to take out Austria prior to 1938 when Germany and Italy would become hostile? Is there something I am doing wrong? I have the focus done as early as late 1936 and they still guarantee their independence. once the national focus is selected that is, but not prior. Please help

Guaranteeing countries sharing the same ideology that are being justified by player is the expected behavior under Expert AI, which BICE incorporates. (Although only warning is scripted. Actual guarantee requires some other conditions.) It is also possible that the National Focus triggers certain events. Do you know how to look up national focuses in the game files?

I am not familiar with Hungary's situation. You decide what makes the best immersion. If you want to make a one-time exception, you can always modify the relevant files for the Austria war and restore the files after. For this, the first step is to make sure there is no scripted event.
