Are you really only allowed to go full democratic at first to allow the Empire to strike back? Following the nationalist/traditionalist route would make a lot more sense, and it is the only one of the three choices that requires only one of the finishers rather than any of them.

Yeah, and my question is why does that make a lick of sense? As opposed to letting the traditionalists bring back the monarchy?

From what I understand, the Democratic Party defeating the Republican Party (Kemalists) in elections is, pretty much, down to traditionalist opposition organising itself together with other anti-Kemalist elements. That being said it would be nice if there was a proper non-aligned option there as well, as opposed to the election being a one-way, but still. Perhaps this is related to individual politician agendas and leanings; I'm not the most familiar with the politicians in question.
