In hoi2 it was always a pain to negiaote advance peace deals. For instance, if germany for some reason wants to make peace with the allies before they've actually taken all of france but doesnt want to give up any germany has conquered, germany has to demand all of the provinces which it is occupying which means you have to know the names of the provinces you want. It would be a lot easier if you could do some sort of cease-fire event, which make peace on the new current borders. I also noticed in some of the pictures that provinces in hoi3 are broken up even further, provinces which were split apart would have a larger revolt risk because people would want to be reunited with the rest of the province, the revolt risk would only apply to the nation which didnt have cores on it.

That would definitely be nice. Also a better way to release puppets. It's really annoying that you have to give up the entire demanded national provinces of that country. No way to form like the General Government in Poland and shape the world how you want.

I imagine this will be a lot easier in HOI3, since the number of states in the game seems to be lower than HOI2 by a lot. If you could simply demand "Normandy" and get all eight or nine provinces in Normandy at once, it would make it a lot quicker to demand only part of a country.

I agree, although maybe the best would be simply a checkbox which when ticked would automatically select the provinces you occupy while still allowing you to modify your peace offer as you wish.

I'm hoping for an easy visual interface where I can select the provinces I want when making a demand.

Having to write down the names of provinces on paper, finding and selecting them all, then having a deal rejected is very frustrating in HOI2. Be neat if it remembered your previous demands too so you can repeat your demands quickly.

If I remember correctly, the big regions will be passed around politically, rather than the tiny provinces which are mainly for military purposes. So it'll most likely work that way. :)

A demands map would be very nice, although (for me at least) negotiated peace isn't too common. :p

You do know you can already release the General Government in HoI2 as Germany? ;) Poland doesn't get former USSR territories because the revolt.txt defines post-war, shifted-west Poland, and they don't get the German lands because you won't give up cores when releasing.

Small nitpick, but General Govenrment was pretty far from being a puppet in game. It was just a name for German administration.

A better way to select provinces sure, but your suggestion is crazy. There is no way a nation gets all the provinces occupied. If Germany had settled with the allies, it would gain Alsace/Lorraine and Danzig which it lost in WW1 and maybe parts of Poland, but would have to release France and most of Netherlands and Belgian which was always Germany's plan.

What really? Are you sure you aren't thinking of a mod because I look all the time. All I'm really asking for is to be able to draw the boundaries of what I release. I usually like to do release as many as possible near the end game and it's just lame.

Oh man, you've hit the nerve about this naming all provinces you want to demand or give. I hope much simple system, sort of like in EU III will be implemented for peace offerings.
