Tartaria sounds very unfitting. Would the "Cuman Empire" or "Tartar Empire" be more better?
Turkestan means "Land of the Turks", seems more unfitting since I'm a cuman countryKebabia.
Now seriously, I think Turkestan would be best.
The Cumans were Turkic, therefore Turkestan.Turkestan means "Land of the Turks", seems more unfitting since I'm a cuman country
Tataria without Tatars has seemed weird to me from the day it was added. Honestly, it should be Cuman-Kipchak Confederation, but that's probably a little long. Cuman Confederation, perhaps?
Yes, but Cumania already exists on the kingdom level.
So do Persia, Arabia and Abyssinia. It doesn't necessarily preclude it from being an empire-tier title as well.
Not under those exact names though. On the empire level, they're Persian Empire, Arabian Empire, etc. You could use Cuman Empire but not Cumania. That's what I was trying to say.
Whereas the British Isles are called "Britannia", not "Great Britain", like how it was actually called.Actually, after checking wikipedia, "Great Tartary" sounds pretty legit and period accurate.
