october 1936
The spanish civil war continues, and in an astonishing display of power, The nationalists advanced into madrid and captured, seriously damaging the morale of the republican south.

December 1936 Council meeting.
Marian arrives in the room, his head hung low, his shirt untucked, his tie loose, the man looks as though he hasn't slept in days.
"good afternoon gentlemen, are there any pressing issues?"
"yes my lord, it appears as if the nationalists now control madrid, i still maintain that we should send some sort of help, i wish to put it forth for vote again, under the new circumstances"
Marian looked very preoccupied
"No, we wont debate on this, and that is final"
The board looked stunned, as of late marian had been letting the council down, by refusing to allow voting, and was acting like a fascist in some sense or another.
Marian scanned the room at the unhappy faces, and delivered a message to them
"Last month on the second of december, the UK sent an offer of alliance to us, to join the allies, i strongly advise that we accept, how do you vote?"
The majority of the council voted for the alliance althogh a large minority were opposed, the main one was the head of foreing relations:
"My lord, an alliance with the uk is not helpful, it is almost clear that they will one day go to war with germany, bringing us also into war, we cannot defend both west and east, a better ally would be the germans, much as i hate to admit it, for they would help us to defend our borders"
"Duly noted councillor, but you have been out voted, we shall accpet their offer, and join the Allies, now moving on, are there any more pressing issues?"
the head of the army stood:
"The republicans have lost a large army in trying to defend madrid, and the nationalist army grows at a phenomenal rate, the two sides now appear to be equal, and at the moment no foreign countries are intervening, it looks like spain is in for a long war."
"thank you councillor, is that all?"
"......"
"good then i'll see you (hopefully) in 3 months time, goodbye"
LATE DECEMBER NEWS
The head of Government Marian Zyndram Koscialkowski has stepped down from office, after the head of foreign relations accused him of being undemoartic more than once in council, he also stated that an alliance with the UK was pure warmongering, and should be cancelled immediately.
Marian has been replaced by a general from the army, although not elected into power, he will be closely watched and the government will remain democratic.
General Kruslow is the man for the job, he was put in place by Parliament, as a war leader, as they believe that war is coming and we should have someone in who knows full well how to deal with war time, so now the head of government is General Kruslow:
Gnrl. Kruslow
In International news, the Republicans have retaken Madrid from Franco
