When you're tribal and adopt feudalism, all your tribes are replaced with castles and all your buildings in your holdings vanish into thin air, meaning your economy is suddenly completely wrecked and your levies are almost all gone.
This could either be made more obvious to the player before you click the final button so you can remember to save up a ton of money for new buildings, or some tribal buildings could be converted into castle buildings (which is what happens in CK2). Because not only are you suddenly poor and have no levies, all your men at arms all cost money instead of prestige so you can't afford them either, and you can't raid anymore (because feudal vikings are peaceful?)
