I Used to play the June 3rd beta with no problem-some great additions and congratulations to Johan and all others involved ;)

However, when I heard that a new beta had been released, I thought that I should upgrade. So I put my old save games in another folder, hoping that they would be compatible with the Aug 15th beta.

I then downloaded the August 15 beta and extracted it to my CK directory, however upon clicking upon the program to initiate the installation, the screen goes blank and I get:

Font gfx\fonts\proforma12.bmp not found.

the three options are
Abort
Retry
Ignore

Ignore and retry cause "Crusader Kings has encountered an error..." Abort aborts.

So I decided to continue playing June 3rd until what I thought was an error in the patch was sorted out; except now it would not let me play CK either. 50% OF the time I recieved the above error, otherwise it would crash as soon as it reached the map.

I then uninstalled the game and re-instlalled in patching it up to 1.4a. I then again tried to put bothe June 3rd and Aug 15 on with WinRAR but to no avail, so I cannot use my betas or my savegame (Just about to take the French throne!)

I even tried a system restore-no effect

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I moved the thread to the public beta forum as this seems to be beta-related.

It seems as if there is a problem with the way you installed it and you should uninstall everything. Then install 1.00 from the CD (provided you don´t have an On-Demand copy) and on top of it 1.04a. After that take the Aug 15th beta patch and install it, don´t bother with the June 3rd one. Better to download the patch again just in case it´s corrupted.

When using WinRar make sure the extract path is correctly .......\Crusader Kings folder. Better check your settings as well, choose "Extract and replace files" "Overwrite without prompt" (or alternatively "ask before overwrite" and then "Yes to all" from the pop-up). In the advanced tab click "extract relative paths".

I hope that helps.

If somebody has experiences of a similar situation please share.
