Is it WAD that tribes also give away their provinces that they 'consider their area' ('tribal land' in peace deal) but are not their cores? I noticed that when my nation was catholic and the pope had declared the colonial area mine, the indigenous tribes gave away their non-cored provinces as well. My colonial nation could then core them. But to the contrary, when my nation was protestant I could still select non-cored provinces that the tribe considered 'tribal land' in the peace deal, but after the peace only their real cores had been taken over.

As a tribe I would not care about a far away pope and treat protestants and catholics the same. So it seems a bug to me.

Attached file is of the protestant colonial nation, where the peace deal suggests you can take over land claimed by the tribe. But in the end you don't get it. Only the cored provices. (War with Wampanoag 1533-06-10).

In the older file from 1517-07-26 (War with Tupiniquim) my nation was still catholic and the colonial nation could also take over the tribal non-cored provinces.

I tried both your saves. You can still take tribal land in the Netherlands save if you don't fully annex your enemy. I think the difference is not the religion of your CN, but if your enemy still exists after the war. In the older save, you can't fully annex your enemy, because they still have room to migrate away and continue to exist even if you take all their provinces

Thanks for investigating. As a test I took only the tribal land and not the capital and then I got all tribal lands. So the Negotiate Peace screen is a bit buggy here suggesting that one can have both all cores and all tribal lands.

In my experience it's also a little buggy if you select the capital first in the peace deal, then the tribal lands, because you get only the capital that way. However if you select the tribal lands first then the capital last you get all of it. At least that was the feeling I got, but I haven't played around natives in a few weeks so I might be misremembering.
