My first thought was they finally fixed the damn tutorial and I'm pretty sure it has actually changed a bit. For instance the trade mapmode in the Venice tutorial squence is now also updated to what we've seen since the 1.12 (which was not the case when 1.12 hit) and text erroneously saying that amongst other nodes Sevilla is also an end node (which it no longer is) has been cut completely. However the whole thing is still a trainwreck and grossly out of date with plenty of flat out wrong information that has been there forever like "light ships give you 3 trade power" when in fact they start out with 2 tp and eventually gain up to 5tp with more modern ship types. I'm glad I'm not a new player, there's a whole bunch of wrong information in the tutorial, which is sad because all of the errors could be fixed by simply rewriting the damn text messages, which should take one person about an hour.

When does the actual patch go live?

If you mean the 1.13 non-beta, then probably in a month give or take.
If i'm not mistaken, Wiz mentioned they get 6 weeks of holidays from PDS, though i'm not sure if he meant just for the summer or yearly (EDIT: I mean concentrated vacation days vs. spread over the year).

Two questions for those in the known:

1. Will a save game started from 1.12.2 be compatible with 1.13?
2. Will a save game started from the 1.13 beta be compatible with the final 1.13?

Perhaps Wiz could answer the question I had as to why there's a Netherland existing from 1477 onwards? It still seems odd to me as a design choice, and that the provinces which are supposed to be part of the Austrian/Spanish Netherlands don't always look joined in particular start dates (such as Netherlands existing but Wallonia owned by Austria, for example). Seems like that part of the world needs some looking over, in my opinion.

1) Yes except for Ironman cloud saves. Those seem to not work,
2) Yes.

I can't seem to take territories from a non-belligerent in my war. It says they are too far away. Am I missing something?

Perhaps it has something to do with this:
- In order to demand provinces you must now be able to make them your core (if not already), either directly or eventually through other provinces you are taking at the same time.

I'm a modder, so perhaps the average players would never think of doing this... but after every patch, I always browse the game directory and view folder in Details to see which folders/files have been patches (by date modified) so I can update my mod files accordingly.
If you do that, it should become apparent why this July 1st hotfix filesize was so large for some... and why SolSys didn't spill the beans.

Why would a beta patch be larger for some than for others? I guess I am missing something unless it's another one of those "oops, accidentally released the whole expansion to everyone again" things which would be pretty hilarious :D

Perhaps it has something to do with this:

They're France, and they're trying to take Asturias. They even have a claim on it. I assume Castile was allied to Burgundy, and France DoW'd on Burgundy with Castile joining in as defender ally. It's definitely within coring range of Poitou.

So yeah, that doesn't make sense.

Judging from Arumba's recent videos, the check to see if you can core it doesn't ignore blockades. I.e. since Poitou is blockaded, you can't core based off it, so the check says you can't take it. Seems like a simple oversight.

Yeah, that's exactly the issue. Since the province is blockaded, and there's no land connection, the game thinks he won't be able to core it. It's an issue that'll have to be fixed.
