I think there's no need for country change as Native American tribes, but I would like to see a possibility of changing religion so that Christians can no longer seize my territory after succesful westernization. A good idea of this is in the Divide et Impera mod, where pagan countries can later convert to Reformed Pagan and their provinces cannot be seized.

In my mod, I've changed the files so shamists cannot change culture through conversion, and so all animists, outside Central/South America will switch to shamanists after conquest by others. It reduces the issue to just those cultures which the rule had in mind.

I am suddenly seeing an issue where my save corrupts.

I use a 'temp' savegame rather than specific saves, and otherwise rely on autosave. Autosaves are fine, but I've suddenly got a 1-in-3-chance that the 'temp' save discards all history information and resets all my foreign relations when I reload from it.

My army, provinces, date and king are OK, but suddenly all the history will read is that my King has become Emperor, and not done much besides. All 20-odd vassals and PU's are released though.

I'll upload a few saves to the tech support forum if it would be helpful.

Works fine for me even using mods with custom maps.

I think you posted having problems installing a mod? and or had questions about installing a mod? in the mod forum - if I remember correctly??? Maybe your install got goofed up. Try a clean install.

And if you are using a mod like MEIOU or Terra Nova you have to copy the mods map directory on top of your main games map directory to work. You would want to make a backup copy first. Note don't delete the main game map directory - just back it up then copy the mods map directory and map sub directories over the main game so the files in the mods map folders update the files in the main games map folders. If you switch mods you have to do this all over again for the new mod or have separate installs for each mod that uses a custom map. Hopefully Paradox will fix the exe in a new beta so we don't have to do this map copy bit in the future.

Also as AndrewT mentioned make sure the mod is written for that version of the exe. Terra Nova works with the latest 5-17-11. I think MEOU is still using the 3-30-11 beta.

Mine works now, after some problems. Which means that SRI should work as well. At most, some minor changes would be needed.

Today marks 6 months from the game release date, maybe it's time for a non-beta patch? Just sayin...

Told Johan the very same recently, here and in the following posting. I'm constantly amazed that we have to repeat said beta vs patch argumentation again and again, year for year.

Seriously a non-beta patch depends on the quality of the changes made to the game not on the time since the release of anything... jeez. It's called a beta patch for a reason, because it may still have bugs/unbalances, only when all the fixes/changes are ok will they release a official patch.

And what? Does that justify that they didn't release a patch within a half year? Nope.
If the beta still isn't good enough, they should have given it a higher priority long ago.

As for achievements - Paradox should not have hyped the feature and then turned it off for the betas. It should have been left on as it is getting to be normal for long delays between official patches and 5.0 had some serious bugs including a lot of people with agp that could not play it at all until fixed in the beta.

At the same time achievements did not exist before DW so what did people do to survive without them????????

I have steam, I just saved another copy of it and unzipped over that. works like magic!

Seriously this is getting absurd. Why not patch in smaller packets, give us the changes and balances/bug fixes that are ok 100% working now an keep behind the stuff that still needs testing. This is getting absurd (6 months...!?). Thats not even mentioning how the old vic dlc on steam for the game screwed up everyone who bought it (no longer recognises the game and patches to newest version, had to fiddle with files to get it working after someone posted a bandade fix) and Du doch nicht DLC for HOI3 on steam doesnt even work... I buy paradox games and DLC asap as soon as it comes out, but if they dont support and work with one of their main distributers better they will lose customers.

Well maybe people who can't use the beta because they use steam or mac etc should contact steam or the mac developer and offer to pay the cost of rolling out an official patch. For the rest of us using gamers gate the betas are fine.

We mac users already pay more than enough to get the same game: DW on gamersgate.com is 9.95€ for windows, and 14.95€ for mac.

But that's not the point, the point is EUIII community must be the sweetest thing for a developer: we quietly accept broken releases and beta patches, and then hurry to attack who tries to point that six-freaking-months is a long enough time to wait to get a working game.
Funny that this is not the case for their other products, just look at Magicka: they released a basically broken game (just like DW), this time got a lot of criticism for that (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/...it-hype-obscures-broken-negligent-release.ars) so they really hurry to fix things, and in a very short time the many who bought Magicka had a working game.
Can we EUIII fans get some love too?
