Applied as well.
Im kinda ambivalent if I actually want to betatest. The reason being that my internet connection will end when my neighbour moves next month cause we are three that share a broadband connection. Currently its in his name.
It will cost me something like 1400 dkr (approx 200 $) to get broadband again and to me thats "real money".
If it wasnt for that trifling amount I would be all happy to beta.

the problem is how much are you willing to pay?
ISDN is charged by the minute, IIRC.
Are you willing to *pay* to beta test a game?
In the case of people with 56k, it's not that they *can't* do it, it's just that they would need a dedicated phone line and they would still waste many hours downloading the patches.
If it takes 2hrs downloading 5mb as opposed to 5min with ADSL, that is two hrs of possible free time you lost to test the game.

You just can't download the patch at night and test it the next day because the next day you'll have a new patch to test.

It doesn't take me anywhere near 2hrs to get 5MB on my trusty modem. At most it takes 30-40m, off the top pf my head.

^^^ Edit: for me 5 mb patches take about an hour. Not that big a deal, I just go watch TV for a bit.

I would assume people who are applying even though they only have a dialup modem have a dedicated phone line for it. Otherwise they better just deal with using a cell phone to talk to people for the time period. ;)

Yay! For once I'm not away during Beta time (as I was when the HOI beta happened).

Patric and company: I forgot to put this in the application but...
I have 3 machines networked with different operating systems (Win 98, Win2k Server and Win XP) and different specs and I could potentially build a fourth (an ancient x486) if need be. Also I also have an ancient Laptop (266mhz PII + Not so good Vid Card) for testing purposes if need be.

Can believe I forgot that... I'm surrounded by those Machines right now...

Now then... I will be checking my email every 5 or so minutes and praying that I typed my email right... and as a result I will be an extreme insomniac until Tuesday, June the Tenth :)
