I was lucky enough to buy the German version of Europa Universalis II, which came out several months after the English version and had the worst bugs already corrected. There was simply no need to report the few, small bugs left and I never really had the urge to get involved in the various discussions here about this and that.
Then I heard about Hearts of Iron and my heart was filled with joy, since it combined my favorite game engine (EU2) with my favorite history setting (WW2), so I immediately pre-ordered HoI's US-version (biggest mistake ever). My first weekend with HoI (v1.00) was a nightmare. The game was a major disappointment, with numerous bugs and many non-existant features. The only game that was able to fill my heart with such anger again was MoOIII, but that's another story.
Why I didn't help to solve these problems? Because this board is less tolerant towards intense whining/rambling (my favorite form of communication) than others, so I simply chose to post my ramblings elsewhere.

No, I didn't sign up for the Victoria beta, because I visit this board rather infrequently (searching for new patches & mods, with a pause of several weeks between every visit) and missed the time window. But I doubt they would have chosen me anyway.
And, no, I also won't pre-order Victoria. I will patiently wait for the German version (if there's one). This way I can be sure that the game will be more fun than pain.
