I got the rejection email. Very nice of them to send a reply even if you didn't make it. Oh well, I'll just have to make the cut in August and impress them with my elite T35t|nG 5kIlzZ then. :p

Ha! Roughly my same thoughts (and actions) when I first got in the HoI Beta. Thankfully, there was an office supply store with a fax machine just down the street. :)

I just got back from faxing once again from that same store. I believe the owner is a bit puzzled as to why I keep sending faxes to Sweden. :D

****International code dialing from US

Since I am under 18, do only my parents sign where recipient's signature is? Do I sign anywhere?

How long was the window for this open, 4 or 5 days? I think I last checked this forum on the 5th

Of course, being 17, I would have been auto-rejected anyway... lovely...

After seeing that, perhaps I'll just lie about my age if I ever actually catch the stupid application period  Err, I didn't say that...

Seriously, though, I think you should reconsider the decision to reject younger Beta applicants. Keep in mind that the younger demographic is where most of your potential expansion is- adults have a fairly good idea of what they like to play, but kids are more... pliable :D

Not to mention that rejecting certain people out of hand just because they would have to fill out a bit more paperwork isn't too customer friendly. I, for one, don't feel loved :(

EDIT:

Put it this way... Anyone below 18 pretty much was rejected unless they had several people recommending them, because they need to get parents/guardian to sign etc.

Eh... why do recommendations change that? And for that matter, why do people under 18 need recommendations, but not those over? It's just as likely that someone over 18 will make a crummy tester as someone under 18.

Contracts signed are not legally binding for individuals under 18 in many locations. This means that if a 17 years old signed the NDA it might not be legally binding for the individual. Its easier to just make sure everyone is 18 than try to ensure that a minor's parents also signed the NDA properly.

Well, I haven't seen the NDA, but below your signature they should put Guardian: (signature).

I think thats right. Johan, Patric, care to verify that or say otherwise? :)

Fate,

What Fireblade said.

Dunno from guardians, but I vaguely remember the NDA asking for one in addition to the other...

EDIT: I'm a grown man waiting up for game designers to get to the office half a world away so I can climb up the rope ladder into the secret club house...

Never Neverland... :D

And many even take important/semi-important rolls and jobs in the forums. I think that just because you are younger you can't do stuff like this well. :)

BTW, what sort of legal things would possibly ensue something like this?
