Look at the board here. There are plenty of Mods for DH 1.05. Look at the first post of the mod threads for the mod information.
I guess you will have to test/try a number of those mods before u will find "your" mod.
It could be an idea to look into the World in Flames mod, Edge of Darkness mod or into our TRP mod. All-In-One-Mod and perhaps Peace without Victory Mod can work too.

If I might ask, are we talking of best 'historical' ww2 or best 'with a massive number of events' ww2?

Both - Balanced, hard, good events, historically quite accurate though I think the Axis powers are too strong in all these games for gameplay reasons. In my opinion they never had any chance at winning the war, but where's the fun in having US with 10 times Japan's IC in-game? Good community for that mod, has been going for many years.

That part about Japan and US is actually historical. Japan was quite weak and was able to take on China because they were even more weaker and mostly destabilised. Japan couldn't have never won a confrontation against the US.

Well number of events are nice, however A.I. and balance are really what I'm looking for most. I would like the chance of different outcomes, so I guess a little a-historical. I believe railroading outcomes can get boring. As most, I want a challenge with possible different outcomes would be ideal. I've been playing a lot of PoV...like it, but looking for something else.

Think you may have to read my post again..
I read it. I knew you meant for the 'fun' part but boosting Japan too much isn't.. fun. I mean if Japan gets too many ICs they can literally steamroll china and Raj without much resistance. Same for Australia and other Pacific nations.
