Was wondering what the go is on this. Will CO add the best Workshop content to the game via DLC/Free Content like Valve does with CSGO Skins?

It would be a good idea. I'd really rather have someone else trawl through the (currently) 19,761 items than do it myself. 
I think this would be a great idea! There are some really awesome mods out there, which could enrich the base game. A lot of visual stuff, like a first person camera, auto line color and the Traffic Report Tool.

I feel like this is probably something they are going to do, be it free content added to game when a new set of DLC comes out or included in said DLC

I love the idea, and wonder if it would help with load times / lag. My computer isn't the best in the world, but it's no slouch either. I'm far above minimum. Yet, with about 100 assets, I run into lag issues when zooming in and out or panning with anything over 50k population. I wouldn't even dream of going above 9 tiles unless I was using the vanilla game other than the unlock mod. Load times even went from about 30 - 40 seconds to now about a minute and a half.
